SmallRig RC 60B COB Video Light, Portable Continuous Output Light

The SmallRig RC 60B COB Video Light has truly elevated my videography game. As a content creator, having reliable and adaptable lighting is paramount, and this light delivers on all fronts. Firstly, the build quality is impressive. It feels robust and durable like the studio lights that I have set up in my podcast studio. The compact size is a plus, making it highly portable. Its COB (Chip-on-Board) technology ensures powerful and consistent lighting output, providing ample brightness for various shooting scenarios. The adjustable color temperature and brightness settings offer incredible flexibility, allowing me to fine-tune the light to achieve the perfect lighting for any scene/situation. Whether I need warm tones or cool tones, this light easily adapts to my needs. I particularly appreciate the versatility of mounting options that the SmallRig RC 60B offers with lighting tripod mount or the rubberized grip mount. I did have to spend extra directly from the SmallRig site and purchase the compatible diffuser, but until I receive the diffuser, I have a panel from another diffuser I have attached to the reflector with a rubberband. I also bought an Anker Prime PowerBank A1336 that can output the necessary 100W to provide steady power to the battery in the light without skipping a beat during filming. I like Anker powerbank products, so I went with theirs although its design doesn't quite fit in the powerbank holder that comes with the RC 60B. There are plenty of cables that come with this light, so you don't necessarily need to go out and buy something else. There's a short one to connect from the powerbank to the light when mounted and longer one that gives you some ability to plug directly into a 100W AC adapter, which I also bought from Anker (Anker 317). Overall, this video light from SmallRig is a fantastic investment for videographers and content creators seeking professional-grade lighting solutions. Its durability, adaptability, and powerful performance make it a standout addition to any video setup. The brightness from this little box is stunning, and it's incredibly easy to dial the brightness and color temperature up and down. For years, I've been "stealing" the 50W LED fiber-optic illuminator from my microscope to light my macro shots. This 60W SmallRig light is brighter and more adaptable for photography. I don't shoot much video, but it would be even better in that realm. I also love the capacious built-in battery and the fact that the lamp can run continuously when plugged into a high-output USB power source, the kinds I already have for fast charging my phones and tablet. With the included case and mounting options, this little bit of kit is a class act. I love it.

This is one of my favorite lights that I have purchased. I use it for photoshoot with clients. My favorite thing is that it is super portable and easy to just throw in my bag. The light is super strong as well and it has different levels adjustment which makes it very versatile. I would say for the money it is definitely well worth it. In terms of battery, it does a good job holding a charge, I never run into the issue of it running out of battery mid shoot and it has the option of being plugged in while in use anyways, but I never had to do that. You are able to dim the light and change the warmth of it, which I find very important.

as this is the first light I have purchased for my photography business. I would say I do like the quality of the light how much light it gives out, and that you can adjust the tone of the light. My only complaint would be the battery life. I can barely get through a whole 30 minute session which is a mini session without it almost being dead. It does not charge if you have it plugged in and the light is on so you do have to turn it on and off in between poses or models to get an extra charge Poor battery life

Great light for conducting interviews. Adjustable brightness makes it versatile. Battery lasts long enough to go wireless for a several hours.

Want to preface by saying that I love this light, my negative rating is a reflection of SmallRigs horrible customer service. I ordered this light during Prime Day and saved myself $100. This is my 3rd SmallRight Light I own, and 12th SmallRig product I own. I was bummed out when my package arrived and the buttons on this light were installed upside down, the charging cable was missing, and the mounting bracket was missing a knob. No worries, sometimes this stuff happens. So I emailed Smallrig, per Amazons instructions. I emailed Smallrig photos, they told me how sorry they were that this happened and offered to send me a free replacement. Great! A few days later they told me they changed their mind and they wouldn't be sending me a new light after all? Not sure what changed in three days. They told me they could offer me a refund for what I paid, but I would have to repurchase the light at full price. They refused to send me a free replacement and a return label for my broken light, so I could exchange it. The whole point of me ordering the light, was because it was $100 off for Prime Day, but then they told me I was out of luck and had to pay full price again. Beware that SmallRig does not stand by their products. They are a Chinese company that lacks quality control.

The light works completely fine. However, the tilting attaching broke on me on the first use! I have seen other people on YouTube reporting the same issue. If you’re considering buying this light I recommend that you buy a separate, more robust attachment. Smallrig makes great quality products, but very disappointed with this one.
