This liquid is practically identical to the tiny bottles that come with the Terro traps. It smells exactly the same (like a savory mix of red wine and urine) and works just as well. So instead of wasting another 20 bucks on a handful of miniature plastic apples, just buy this replacement fluid. It works! And is FAR superior to apple cider vinegar.*Also, please be aware this liquid is most effective when used with an actual trap. Either in a container with small holes for the flies to enter but have difficulty escaping. Or, placed in conjunction with a sticky pad. Fruit flies typically don’t dive into bowls of wide open liquid. They’re looking to breed, not swim.

We use this in various locations -- both indoors and outdoors. We also use it in conjunction with other traps, such as BugBane's Super Sticky Fly Stick (also bought on Amazon). BugBane's sticks have a small reservoir at the bottom of their traps, where you can (if you choose) pour a small amount of this liquid. The bugs are initially attracted by this liquid lure, then they get "stuck" on the sticky trap. Everybody gets stuck -- fruit flies, regular flies, mosquitoes. Very effective!

meh doesnt last that long....I bought to refill....2nd time purchasing....after about 3 days repels pesty fruit flies/gnats........its ok....I needed it while creating compost

I have been using this product for over a year. But, unfortunately, it appears the product solution has been diluted. It is not as effective prior solution received.

I initially left a negative review for this product because it did not work for me. It could be that the gnats or fruit flies in my area simply aren't attracted to it.Since I left the negative review, I was contacted several times by the seller offering a full refund. For that, I am raising my review to three stars instead of one. I am a sucker for excellent customer service and these guys know how to provide it.2nd edit: even though I told them I didn’t require a refund, they went ahead and refunded me anyway. Raising my rating to five stars simply for the AMAZING customer service. I’m going to see what else this seller offers, because this level of customer service is outstanding and rare.

It seems to work. We have a countertop compost bin and each time the fruit flies show up, they begin to land inside the little container and drown. Still a pain, but this helps.
