It’s very easy to set your code and it’s simple. It goes through zipper holes to keep your luggage safe. Also TSA approved so they can open the lock if they need to without having to break the lock, which is great. I have purchased many of these and use them on all the luggage’s. It doesn’t feel cheap and has held up very well. It’s simple, and it works as designed.

This is a nice lock that works great on my locker at the gym. Setting the 3 digit combination was easy and I have an easier time opening this lock than the traditional knob-turning locker locks. The lock seems sturdy enough for a few hours at the gym. I am sure that with a lot of force or a lock cutter, it could be broken, but it is adequate for what I use it for.

Perfect for a gym locker. Important to read the instructions! Step 3 - be sure to FIRMLY press shackle down! Operating Instructions This lock is preset at the factory to open at 0-0-0. To set your own combination: 1. With dials at 0-0-0, pull out shackle. 2. Turn shackle counterclockwise 90° (1/4 turn) and press it down. 3. Continue FIRMLY PRESSING SHACKLE DOWN and turn another 90° (1/4 turn). 4. Set the dials to your own combination. 5. Turn shackle clockwise back to the original 90° position. 6. Lift shackle and return shackle to closed position.

First of all — THIS PADLOCK HAS AWFUL INSTRUCTIONS. It’s a pain to set your code! The instructions do not adequately describe how to set it and are in desperate need of revisions by the manufacturer. Stop expecting Amazon reviews to do your job! As for the padlock itself - it’s OK. Gets the job done for locking stuff up at the gym for an hour or two. It sits in my freezing car when not in use which does not impact reliability at all. The numbers are a little hard to read though - the silver background is shiny, but the numbers are a dull black etch so it’s kind of annoying. If you have vision problems, stay away from this. But it’s priced well and does what I need it to do.
