Works well and made in the USA
I read the negative reviews and would like to share my positive experience. Admittedly, I only used the siphon once so far, but it worked perfectly well. It was easy to start the siphon, and there was no issue with the check valve. For those complaining of the hose being shipped in a coil tighter than they would prefer, I would remind you that larger/more packaging costs more money to produce, store, and ship. It’s also bad for the environment. The instructions say to heat the hose in warm water if you would like to straighten it. This is hardly an issue to complain about. The product is made in the USA, where we pay a good wage, so the price is more expensive than the Chinese brands. It makes sense to support ourselves, so buy American and gladly pay a couple dollars more to support our economy. My only gripe is that the product information does not include the outer diameter of the hose and of the copper check valve. Also, I wish they made smaller sizes. I’d like to get one for gasoline, and this size hose is too large to fit in my car’s gas tank. Yes, I realize I can buy a smaller diameter hose and step down to the size I need. But that doesn’t change the fact that I may also need a smaller copper valve on the other end.

Here's one way to get the coil out of it...
Dang! When the great earthquake hits, I didn't want to be stuck trying to figure out how to "get the coil" out of this hose. So I decided to heat some water, and warm it up a bit. Toughest thing: finding something that's wide-enough across, to even help. A wok! Note: don't heat the wok, I think you'll find that the hose sticks to the metal. Instead add very hot water to it, then add the hose. Once you warm-up the hose, you can probably loop some string around each end, and suspend it from something, with a small weight on the other end. Picture #2 shows how much less coil there was, without even hanging it (The hose arrived in shrink-wrap about the size of the label shown in both pictures).

VERY DISAPPOINTED !!!
If I could give ZERO stars I would !!! It is such a DISAPPOINTMENT !!! Took it out of the package on the third jiggle the brass end dropped off in my brand new fuel tank !!! Now I need to purchase something else to drain 100 gallons of fuel, to retrieve part of the siphon that I purchased to drain the tank !!! Not the way I was anticipating this to go !!! I thought purchasing the one that was a little more expensive would be the better option. Apparently not !!!

Very Unique Yet Useful Item
A really unique and amazing product. The hose is durable thick and feels well built. The inside diameter is abour an inch, and lets plenty of fuel through.I use it to fill up my boat and it works great! It does however take a little getting used to as far as starting the syphon. You sometimes need to jerk it up and dorn forcefully to start the syphon fast and clear any air in the whose. The mechanism is super simple, only being a brass fitting with a marble inside to greate a one way check valve. The cons are that i wish it was a little longer 15 feet would have been perfect. Anyway a great snd unique product.

Little tricky
When the tank is full it's easier to start the siphon if it stop during the process it becomes tricky to start again.

Nice long hose
Works awesome, got tired of buying crap siphon hoses that either didn't work or broke quickly. Dang this one will siphon 6 gals in about a minute. I was worried going from the standard 1/2" hose to 3/4" may not fit and I was right I can get the exit end in my 2001 gmc tank but there is no way to get the siphon end in the tank. But that is not what i bought it for so im happy. If you are want to use it on newer cars and trucks buy the 1/2" version

How to fix the ball getting stuck
When I did a test run of this product, I quickly found the ball gets stuck, preventing you from being able to use it properly.HOWEVER, I did find a solution to simply fix that. You just need pliers. Simply clamp down LIGHTLY just enough to press the end of the fitting in a bit, SLIGHTLY dented inward, that prevents it from getting stuck as the ball can't seal properly. If you press it in to much, may not work. I will include some photos of my adjusted fitting. Simply use pliers and it prevents the ball from getting stuck. Successfully siphoned 10 times In a row, no ball stuck. Best bet is to clamp down a bit, test it, still stuck? Clamp back down on it a bit, retest. Works for me now.DRAINAGE: Yes it drains fast. It takes about 30 -45 seconds to drain a full 5 gallon bucket. Drains well, works well if the ball isn't stuck. We fixed that problem, now it's a 5 star.

Couldn't get it to work
I tried using it from a 5 gallon gas can into my tractor. Can was placed a few inches below the filler cap. I was able to get the fuel going up the hose and to the can. Just would not flow. Probably user error, but I tried for ten minutes
