Oldies but goodies. These little brass letter cutout are same I recall using 70 years ago to stencil things. These work just as well. I needed to stencil address on trash bins as well as street number on curb outside the house. These are well made. Read the details on the one you purchase. I bought one that was all numbers initially not seeing there were no letters. My fault. The individual letters slide into each other allowing you to string a bunch together for a job. They also clean up well. I just wash them off immediately after use.

No different than stencils from 80+ years ago. These will do the job time and time again. Clean up is easy and as long as you store them properly, they will outlast you.

I have an identical old set for which I have lost a few letters over the years. The old set came in a sturdy, well-fitting box. These came in a VERY loose-fitting, cheap, and thin box that I predict won't last long. I found a plastic (is everything plastic now?) that fits both sets pretty well. So, product is a 5, but packaging for intended purpose, a 2 or 3.

These stencils are the best. They’re the same type that I used when I was in the military. With that said they are rugged and they take a little skill to put together. Just like another reviewer said you need more than one set to spell out words. I have bought three.

Worth the extra money. These stencils have male and female grooves for very secure gripping with no "holes" for paint to get through. The metal material means they're going to last for awhile too. Be careful not to man-handle while sliding the letters together though..the potential for buckling is there. Unlike the plastic variety, these stencils stay locked together no matter how you handle them, so you don't have to be so careful moving them from object to object and painting. I sort of wish a nice cloth bag for storage came with them, but I found one. Since some stencils are different in width than others (say an "I" vs a "W") they don't lay on top of each other that well in storage, so a bag or box would be good for them. I recommend disconnecting each letter from your assembly after use and cleaning, or paint may keep them stuck in place.

I used these in combination with a wood burning tool to brand names and dates onto the side of wooden boxes as a wedding gift for groomsmen. These worked like a charm and stayed together nicely. Would buy again if I even manage to destroy these, but they are quite hardy for what they are. Was able to place them directly onto the wood to use the burner on and around them without even having to trace with a pencil of anything, as I believe they are brass.

First off, the price of these things is ridiculous. They are also difficult to get together and take apart. The stencils work well and better than the paper ones you find, but the price.... Geez.

Great product and resonably priced. Quite a variety of stencils to use. Edges are sharp, so use caution when putting them together. Easy to clean, with the right cleaner, depending on what you're doing. Very happy with the purchase and reasonably priced.
