This is a lovely book filled with good tips and lots of common sense gardening information. Best of all, Monty writes in such a way that you feel as if you’re chatting with a friend in the garden over a cup of tea.

I enjoy watching Monty's shows on BBC although I am in America. I always come away inspired and a little smarter about my garden. I bought this as a way to muse on ideas and enjoyed it so much. It felt like walking the garden with a friend and just discussing as we went. I am seeing my spaces from a new perspective and will come back to this for my good friend's advice more than once, I am sure. The only thing better would be actually pruning and talking in person! Really nice book, glad I bought it.

One of my favorite authors. Almost like reading poetry. His suggestions and encouragement are very helpful when I'm frustrated with PNW gardening.

This book is exactly what I hoped for. An easy read that reads just like Monty talks. It’s not overly complex just great tips and tricks to keep in mind in the garden.

Have always loved Monty's videos and shows and this book offers some great advice with interesting tidbits about the way things work in the garden. Well worth the price and a nice read.

In the internet time, I believe is better to choose one good source of informations instead of cruising like crazy in the ocean of online opinions. Well, Monty Don is one you can trust about how to care plants. When you read his well written, beautiful books you have the sensation you find the right answer to your confused questions. Delivery in time too

| am a great fan of Monty and was so looking forward to this book BUT it doesn't really reveal anything different. A novice gardener would find it very good and informative but I have a shelf of gardening books all of which tell me in one form or another what is in 'Down to Earth'. I did like the introduction and Nature and Place. In general, it is a very good book in its content but more suited to novice gardeners. I was hoping for more philosophy of gardening and deeper insights. I will certainly dip into it from time to time (though I currently live in the Southern Hemisphere).

Schon lange bin ich um dieses Buch herumgeschlichen, jetzt habe ich es mir zum Beginn der Gartensaison gegönnt! Ich bin schon lange ein Fan von Monty Don und ich wurde nicht enttäuscht. Es enthält nicht nur gut umsetzbare Tipps fürs ganze Jahr sondern auch jede Menge Lebensweisheiten. Dieses Buch wird mich lange begleiten.

come dice il titolo è un libro terra-terra, concreto e pratico, con tanti consigli e suggerimenti utili a coltivare la passione per la terra. Consigliato a chi conosce l'inglese ed ama seguire Monty Don . Non e' un manuale con tempi di semina e di raccolta, e' piu' come ascoltare un saggio che racconta la sua esperienza.
