I bought this Spear & Jackson Spray and Leave remover to deal with algae buildup around the house, mainly near the hose and water pipe, as well as on the tarmac drive. Application was straightforward, and it did a good job without needing scrubbing or pressure washing. After leaving it to work, the algae cleared up noticeably and the affected areas looked much cleaner. Nothing fancy here, but it does what it’s meant to do. Useful if you want a low-effort way to deal with algae on outdoor surfaces.

Great at killing off grean moss on paths and fences.

Kills and cleans algae on fences and concrete without the need for scrubbing, leaves no trace of residue, I sprayed in a dry spell after a couple of days no trace of green, but it will return over time, worth it to prevent slipping on concrete paths etc. Will treat again end of autumn and hopefully keep algae down to a minimum in winter months.

If you spend hours pressure washing around your paths and garden I recommend you try this. We only pressure wash every 3-4 years since using this as it keeps the lichen and algae away. We used it 3 years ago on garden shed roofs and haven’t had to repeat it since. It killed all the moss and we just had to sweep it off after about 3 weeks (when the weather improved). We are surrounded by mature trees and woodland and what a difference it makes. We recommend it to everyone and they see the difference very quickly in their gardens and buildings too. We’ve used the dilute yourself as well as the ‘as it comes’ with the same results. It’s 100% effective in a very short period of time. We used it on the top of a decorative wall and the algae was gone in 3 days. I do like to pressure wash - I find it very therapeutic but I do give in around the end of March and feel I’m cheating with Spear & Jackson 😀

Easy to apply, you don't see results immediately, and as a result of it not raining for weeks after application, we saw no results at all until I pressure washed, where I could then see the chemical reaction. Patio now looks brand new.
