Insinkerator EVO CVR CNTRL is quiet, works well, no surprises installing it
The delivered box looked like it had been air-dropped on our driveway - major box dents going into 2 sides and bulging out the other sides - BUT the packaging was protective. There were NO internal damages save everything being displaced on two axes! Kudos to Insink' package design. It's quieter that the previous, 10 yr old model it replaced (due to failed cover-control and no replacement part availability). We're happy with it.

Well-Made machine but very expensive to install
I love the machine, it's very quiet. However, it needed quite a bit of work to install because if it's enormous size. I would ask your plumber what it cost before you order it.

It does a good job of quickly grinding garbage . Also is reasonably quite
Although its only been installed for the past 2 weeks, I'm pleased with the way this disposal runs. It is reasonably quiet and seems to do a quick reasonable job of disposing of food waste . I had this professionally installed . I am happy with the early performance of this unit.

What an Absolute Nightmare
This should be a 20 minute install if you're replacing an existing unit. If your existing unit is the cover control unit and you want to replace it with the same, the company has "improved" the unit by making curious changes, completely changing the way the stopper is designed, which renders the unit about two inches lower at the drain connection location. You'll be able to line up the new unit left/right, but not up/down, then you'll be on your way to the hardware store. They don't mention this anywhere, except in the box there's a document that warns you about this. For most this will be the first time they learn this. All Insinkerator does is use the nickname "EZ" all over the place. EZ snap in place installation, just the easiest thing in the world. No, it's not true. Then it gets bad. The manual will insist that if you don't use the spring connector which they provide on the drain connection your warranty will be voided. This unit, though, does not use a spring connector. Is anybody home? For the electric connection, you'll need to go back to school for engineering. Inside the bottom of the unit is a plastic connector, and you're supposed to strip the stranded wires and "push them in to lock." As you can imagine, whether this works or not is up to the wire, how stiff it feels like being as it's pushed in. It's likely this will take several attempts and you'll never feel like it's a good connection. Because it's not! Then you stuff that into the bottom of the unit. You'll probably need to buy a power cord. If you want to use a cord with a plug you can. They make one. But you won't get it with the package. Once you get it (if you're using the plug type, not hard-wired) and connect it, stuffing it all in and making the connector fit is a job best done by a magician. It's a shame we have to figure out how to install these products, after they break down after a few years and have to be replaced. They promise it will be easy, BUT you'll find out there must be no-one at the company aware of the absence of sensible instructions, zero instructions that actually apply to your unit, and missing parts. Bottom line: This unit will replace your cover control unit, but you'll need to spend hours reading three or four different online manuals (if you can find them), learn how to ignore the WARNINGS that have nothing to do with anything, get lucky with the electrical setup and rebuild your plumbing pipes. Many people are familiar with this brand; Insinkerator has a well-deserved good reputation for quality and value. I thought of that as I ordered this unit, having had several in the past and done many easy replacement installs. My hopefulness of a slick, sweat-free install was destroyed when I went to actually install this. It took me all day. Still, it might be negligent of me not to mention these are great units (once installed) and if you're not replacing an existing unit (if doing a new install), my biggest issue doesn't apply. I do recommend this brand. The company should not use stranded wires going into plastic snap-in connectors; they should write instructions for this unit; they should include a power cord, and the install-dimension-mismatch with the drain connection dropping two inches should be a bold WARNING on the box! I hope Insinkerator sees the light of day and standardizes. This was installation hell!

Hope you're an electrician (and maybe a magician)
I rarely write reviews. This is not my first Insinkerator, or Evo Cover Control. I discounted the reviews commenting on the poor instructions, thinking that maybe people missed something...but nope - the instructions are among the worst I've seen. Certain steps were totally missing. Later I found there was a second set of directions too, although that didn't explain everything either. Finally, after wasting several hours trying to figure it out, I had it assembled. When I flipped on the power, the Insinkerator started right up! Great! Except the cover was not in place. So it runs great, just won't stop, and doesn't use the cover...I've now wasted a couple more hours reassembling, double-checking, and reading the internet and various manuals and You Tube videos. Still same result. Pretty annoying to buy a 'premium' product to find out it's not so premium. (If the folks at Insinkerator want to tell me what I did wrong, I'm happy to change my review. But for now, I'm thinking the switch is faulty). Disappointing, plus now I can't even talk to someone about it until Monday when their customer service is open (today is Saturday). I love not being able to use my kitchen sink!! Not... **Upgraded from 2 to 4 stars. The product itself is good. If I rate just the appliance, and not the company it's probably closer to 5 stars. After the disaster above, and several failed answers from their technical support, I finally got someone on the phone who sent me, and explained the correct instructions for the wiring, which I wouldn't have figured out without the diagram. Can't say why it didn't come with it, or why there are separate instructions to begin with, but with the correct instructions it's actually pretty simple. The black wire connector was pretty mangled from pulling out the wires from previously failed attempts - they were great about sending me a new one. All I can say is that if you get all the instructions, it's relatively easy to install yourself.

Make sure this is the garbage disposal you want it's only for hardwire (See review)
The first review I wrote, I blew up the disposal. To be fair, the manufacturer did a lousy job with the information and installation instructions on this. 1. Do not purchase this disposal if you want to be able to plug it in, it's a hardwire unit only as the batch feed that comes with it is wired only for hardwire, you can wire in your own plug, but I wouldn't. You can purchase any of the batch feed units and add the batch feed kit with plug-in module separately. 2. The instructions are not clear and take some thought and working with to get everything assembled. If you purchase any of the EZ series, , when you go to install the mounting assembly, it's easier if you take 2 of the screws out and unscrew the 3rd one more than half way. Then you can use masking tape to tape the mount to the bottom of the sink while you install the snapring. Also, I used a stack of books to raise the disposer so I wouldn't have to hold it as high and for as long. Also, when you follow the instructions to remove the collar from the unit so you can install the batch column, even though it doesn't tell you, you will have to reinstall the collar on the new batch feed unit. I finally got the unit installed. 2 months later, the disposal is installed, no problems with it. I do like the magnetic batch feed. It works easier than some other brands.
