A little physics
A science book for kids. I would say ideal reading age would be seven and up. It will get into concepts you have to wrap your head around. But the level of writing is such it shouldn't be a problem for them. It's a large sized hardback. It's only sixty four pages. Price does mean it's the kind of thing that might go best in a school library. It's all about physics. It uses double page spreads to explain physics. Starting with an introduction. Then the rest of the spreads will take one subject at a time, and explain them. In their two pages. These range from gravity to air resistance to sound volume. Among others. The layout of each double page is done so it catches the eye. There's a mixture of text and cartoon drawings. All that it says really does teach you things. I never knew the correction definitions of weight and mass before, for one thing. And there's a wonderfully humorous tone to it. It's subtle and very funny with it.There is a complete glossary and index also.I came away from this having found it a fun lesson into things, and I learned some stuff from it. I'm fifty six. So would that I had had a book like this years ago. A really great way to deliver the subject to kids. Totally worth five stars.

My boffin 8YO enjoyed this.
This book makes sense of a lot of aspects of physic and makes it more accessible for children who need to look at things a different way. The format is ideal for non analytical thinkers. Each mini topic is set out on a double page spread with lots of pictures and diagrams with a comic strip running through the centre. The author has done well to find humour or lightheartedness in each of the topics which will do well in making the child remember and recall the important facts and terminology of the topic. My eight year old boffin enjoyed reading through this book. He picked up a lot of facts and new vocabulary. And he gained a good understanding of lots of different aspects of physics. The physical qualities of the book is excellent. Printed and bound flawlessly.
