So when these arrived I was fully prepared to absolutely slate these in review because the instructions are a total joke, but honestly the products excellent performance and convenience saved them. The instructions really are like someone just copy pasted instructions from 3 random but similar products, I could go in more detail there, but I'd just be wasting my time, because honestly... JUST IGNORE THE INSTRUCTIONS COMPLETELY. They are nonsense and will just cause more confusion than anything. Instead here is what you do: 1) Get a big jug of water (More than a litre). 2) Take the cap off a pouch. 3) Blow carefully into the pouch, you want to blow hard enough to make it puff out so you can get more water in, but don't puff too hard or you'll blow the contents of the pouch out into your mouth. 4) Pour carefully into the pouch, about as quickly as you can manage without spilling (pour too slowly and the gel inside will go solid before you've got the maximum amount of water in), and stop just as it reaches the bottom of the white plastic threaded bit. I found this easier to do without the funnel. 5) Wet one of the blue rubber cones, and push into the hole in the pouch until it's flush with the top. 6) Screw the white cap on tightly. 7) Chuck it in the freezer overnight. 8) Refill your jug and go back to step 1 for the other pouches *IF* you do that, then in a cool bag these with other the other freezer packs, you'll easily get more than 24hrs out of these, or at least a lot more than you would a normal cool pack. Add to that that these are a lot smaller and a lot thinner than normal cool packs, and don't seem to collect as much condensation and you've got a way better alternative than those daft blue blocks.

Mine arrived open with granuels all over the bag. Obviously I have no idea about how 'safe' the granules are that fell out on my carpet.... The instructions were a waste of time as mentioned by many others here. The performance when filled and frozen is excellent. I'm slightly dubious about the refillable nature of the caps, from a pet and child perspective I don't want the contents coming out and pouches are less secure than the sold plastic ones I've used for years. However the performance and thinner size have kept this as a 3-star rather than 2 for me. Lost 2 because of instructions and mess of how mine arrived.

These are awful. The instructions are absolutely useless and two of the five had holes in them which meant the granules had leaked out. With a toddler in the house, these went in the bin as simply not worth the risk.

I confess I misunderstood these when I ordered them. I thought they were just bags which you put plain water in and then froze it, so when you’d finished with them, you could just top the water out and store them flat again. I wasn’t quite right there. I have several of those blue ‘ice blocks’ that I keep in the freezer to pop into cool bags to keep drinks cold and similar uses. They are really useful but they’re quite bulky and take up a fair bit of room in the freezer. So the idea of having something similar that you can just empty and store flat when not needed, seemed a good idea. This pack is 5 ice bags do store pretty flat, apart from the slight bump from the plastic caps. So you can keep them in a kitchen cupboard or in the garage, without taking up a lot of space. Where I was confused is that you don’t just fill them with water; well, you do fill them with plain water but the bags come with some granules already inside which then mix with the water to make a special ‘freezing gel’. Obviously, once you’ve done this, you can’t just tip the liquid out of the bag again. The bags are reusable but they won’t store right down flat again. However, having them in compact form for storage before you need them the first time, is a useful feature.
