Great for people who do not want to get the traditional "waist leash"
I hook this to my leash this and use a heavy duty carabiner to hook the other end to my belt loop. Thus creating a waist leash without actually having to wrap anything around my waist. It is a failsafe in case I drop the leash from my hand (I volunteer at a shelter, so there are a lot of big dogs that like to pull like crazy).

Great extender...just too bulky for my small dog
I purchased this item rather impulsively now that spring is arriving and I'm taking my beloved Havanese, Ernie with me just about everywhere I roam. Ernie and I are also contemplating a few extensive road trips. Ernie must be securely tethered into his rear-seat doggie car seat, especially after I survived a very serious auto accident...first one ever...this past December and totaled a truck. Fortunately, Ernie was not with me. I wanted an extender to attach to the very short one that is part of Ernie's secure car seat. I purchased the Yangbaga for this purpose. So, this is a great, sturdy, secure & attractive bungee-cord type "shock absorbing" leash extender. It is extremely well made but IMHO, this extender is waaaaay too big, heavy and bulky for my 20-lb Havanese. The plated clip on the end of the extender is huge...seems to weigh a ton. I cannot imagine tethering Ernie into his doggie car seat with this thing for any extended period of time. I gifted the extension to my neighbor, who owns a rather unruly, VERY STRONG, one year old, 65-lb male lab. Nice item but it didn't work for us.

It's not for small dogs despite the description saying it is
Good quality but the description tries to catch all potential buyers. I wouldn't buy this for a dog less than 40lbs. It's too bulky for smaller dogs and they're too small to make the band stretch. You'd be choking the dog out before it stretches if your dog is less than 40lbs let alone my 20lb poodle mix. That said, if your dog is about 40lbs or bigger it's probably a perfect product to prevent sudden leash tension. I'd love to find a smaller one because my poodle loves to suddenly stop or run to investigate something and hits the end of the leash just to be jolted back. The benefit is more than just for the dog. It's good for the person holding the leash because when the dog hits the end of the leash it wont make you practically dislocate your arm because it has several inches of stretch that makes it less "abrupt".

Bright, strong, well built.
The green one is very noticeable so that should help with visibility at night even though it is not reflective. It does not extend to the 23" advertised; just 21.5"; measuring from tip of ring to tip of the clip. But that is not enough to cause me to downgrade it. As others have indicated, it is pretty stiff. I am hoping that changes over time as it is repeatedly stretched by the dog. Once that happens; if it happens; it seems to me it will be more gentle at slowing the dog down when he reaches the limit of the combination leash and extension. It seems to be real well made and should hold up over time. The weight seems pretty fine even for our 15 pound little dog.

Impressive durability and Quality of the Material
Material is strong and thick. Flexibility is tight, but thatโs a good thing for its purpose. It wonโt over extend if your dog suddenly rushes out after a squirrel itโll give a little and same for when I seat belt her harness in the car in case of accident I feel better knowing even though sheโs got a harness that itโll help her not jolt and reduce risk of fracturing her chest bone etc. Iโm impressed and wished I bought the dual set. I will say that if you have a dog that jolts I would walk with a harness no pull because no matter what any force even while this absorbs a lot is bad to their cervical/neck and could cause long term issues in future.

OK product but with caveats
I wanted to use this with an extender leash, which I use to exercise my dog in my unfenced yard. However, it seems to be too heavy for the extender leash. First, the extender makes the leash sag near the dog, so that he's always getting his feet tangled in the leash. And since the extender leash rewind spring is calibrated for the light cable or ribbon of the leash itself, it slows retractions and that too results in tangles as the dog moves around. It seems to work ok otherwise, but I didn't use it for long.. too much of a nuisance to keep untangling the dog. I do think it would likely be fine for short-leash walks.

Seems Quite Rugged So Far
I bought this to replace a similar cheaper device that seemed to have been made out of cheap rubber bands and fell apart in no time. Went a little โextraโ to ensure I got something tougher this time. My dog is only 29 lbs but heโs like the Tasmanian Devil when he sees a squirrel so sure enough, he busted the cheap one I bought last time. This seems to have a steel coil inside to it and be much more ruggedly built so i expect it will hold him. Only had it about 2 months though. I will update the review if there are any issues, for now though it does exactly what it says on the tin and I have a good feeling about this one.

Bought for the running leash
I have the belt type running leash that has the elastic 3 foot leash. I actually bought this to extend that leash just a bit. My doodle isn't huge but he's long enough that it's easy to accidently step on the back of his paws if he wanders over too far. This is a little over a foot long and is also elastic so that helps give us the extra distance. It clips on super easy and ive never had any problems with it. You could also clip this on to a longer lead for letting your dog out or one of those runner lines if youre worried about your dog pulling too much. Our doodle is 65lbs.

Works well :)
My dog is 20lbs and sometimes decides she wants to sprint at a bird, this helps the shock and not dislocate my entire arm haha

Get it
Great product, I should have gotten it sooner. Has really help in stopping back pain from walking my dog. The only thing I would change is to not have it stretch out so far before it hit the limiter

Useless
Nice appearance but useless: not stretchy enough to make any difference and clasp is heavy and cumbersome. I bought a super cheap one on Aliexpress for a fraction of the price and although not as good "quality" (ie cheaper, lighter materials), it works better than this one.
