Great concept, interactions with Ring support were amazing!
UPDATED REVIEW (about 1 week after orig 1-star review)Overall, tag is great in concept and execution in real life scenario is handled very well. I wish I could give more than 5 stars because of my interactions with Ring after I couldn’t get the product to “work” during setup - after calling tech support and leaving 1-star review, Jess from Ring contacted me & left a message on how to get in touch with her. I sent some more info on the problem I was running into as well as a feature enhancement suggestion based on my recent experience (suggestion utilizes the gps coordinates of the scanning phone, preserving the finder’s anonymity while giving the pet owner some info about where the pet is). When Jess and I connected she explained (very politely) that based on privacy handling, the phone couldn’t technically call itself (dial your own number sometime, I dare you!). She also suggested testing from a different phone if I wanted to continue testing. The coolest part was she told me that my suggestion was a great idea and they were going to look at including it in the next release! What I loved about this interaction was-- The personal, direct support I got from Jess on behalf of Ring- The handing of how my issue was solved/explained- The handling of my feedback made me feel like Ring really cares about this product and wants it to be greatBecause the tag works AND my interactions with Ring (thanks again to Jess and also Alexis) I’ve got my pets tagged, I’m giving them as Xmas gifts, and I’m recommending them as great peace of mind insurance to anyone who’ll listen. The product only has one minor flaw (see orig review below) - the whole thing doesn’t work if you are testing it with the phone you used to set it up. Btw that’s not really the flaw, I can understand why they didn’t put in extra work on the corner case that the owner is trying to contact themselves to test the product. The flaw is that they don’t tell you anywhere that it won’t work with the same phone (and I’m not the only person that would want to test the tag). As long as that’s communicated during setup, I’m 1,000% in love with this product!ORIG REVIEW:Along with other reviewers, I agree that initial setup wasn’t super intuitive for the pet tags. You can create a pet profile independent of the tag, the tag setup is just associating the pet profile to the specific QR code.PROBLEM IS when I scan the QR code (like the dog was found by someone else):1. the owner’s phone gets notified correctly that someone scanned the tag.2. As the tag scanner, it tells me I can contact the owner via phone or sms - but for some reason, the phone number it texts is NOT MINE. (Not owner)It uses a completely different phone number - diff area code for a diff state, etc. When I call the number through the QR code it’s disconnected, nothing happens when I send texts through the app.I love this idea, but right now I’ve wasted $20 on two tags that don’t contact me if my dogs are found. I called Ring support team but first tech support wasn’t familiar with the product at all because it’s still so new. They’re going to research it and get back to me (I’ll update the review accordingly) but at this point it’s looking like I’m going to need to return these for refunds because they just don’t work.

Easy to set up. Gives a pic and id info after scan. Nice way to get info out about your missing pet.

Haven't Needed to Use so Far, but Glad it's on My Pup!
I’m so impressed with the Ring Lost Dog Tag and the accompanying online profile. It’s honestly been one of the best investments I’ve made for my dog’s safety. The tag itself is lightweight, durable, and easy to attach to my dog’s collar. I love that it's not bulky like traditional ID tags, so it doesn't bother my dog at all. What really sets this apart is the online profile feature. When I registered my dog’s tag, I was able to fill out a detailed profile with his name, contact information, vet details, and even any special needs or behavior notes. If my dog were ever lost, anyone who finds him could scan the tag with their smartphone and instantly access his profile. It’s such a great way to ensure a quick reunion, and I feel much more at ease knowing my pup is always just a scan away from being safely returned home. The peace of mind this tag provides is priceless. I never worry as much about my dog getting lost because I know the Ring Lost Dog Tag is a reliable backup. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to go beyond traditional tags and give their dog an extra layer of safety. It’s simple, effective, and gives you confidence as a pet owner!

Super easy to setup
Super easy to setup. You just scan it and setup a profile. I'm giving it a 4 star because the barcode wore off and I had to buy another one. They should put a coating on them to prevent this. Other then that, I have no complaints.

Nice little tag with lots of info and options available to reunite you with your fur baby
This little device is great and packed full of information about your fur babies. Not gonna lie, I struggled a bit setting it up at first because to go to the ring app which is mostly designed for doorbells and camera systems. You have to really hunt around to find the pet tags. It is not GPS. Scanning worked with android, iPhone and cheap disposable phones. You can set up a whole profile on your pet including vet info, special needs. It also has a section that makes a flyer if your baby decides to take a walk about. If someone scans it, a link is created and the rescuer gets the option of texting or calling you....fur baby reunited!

Easy and Effective
What a LIFESAVER!! So easy to setup and add to pet collar (lite weight). They work very well too! Added to my cat’s collar, and next day received a call from a neighbor advising he was at their house (begging for treats no doubt)! No concerns about water or electronics getting damaged. All somebody needs to do is point their phone camera at QR code (really didn’t even need to touch my cat) to get immediate pet and contact info. No fees or subscriptions, Thank goodness. Don’t hesitate, no need for chip scanning at vet, owner can be contacted immediately! All three of my pets have one. Great gift for all pet owners too! *Can be reassigned to different pet. Only Complaint: I wish they offered smaller sizes for small animals. Would be huge on a kitten or small/young cat. Thank goodness all mine are beasts😉

So glad I found this!
I had no idea these were a thing, and I am so happy I found them! So you have the Ring app. You scan the QR code and make a pet profile. They allow you to input anything imaginable. From basic pet things like your address and contacts, but it does not share this with the individual who scans it. Once scanned, it gives the information you have input, like height, weight, color, allergies, and things of that sort. There is an area to add additional information, and you can personalize the message seen by the individual who scanned the tag. My favorite part is that whoever scanned the tag, whether they reach out to you or not, Ring will automatically alert you that it has been scanned. If your pet is lost, you can activate a lost pet mode. It will alert your neighbors on the Ring app and share your pet information. It's extremely lightweight like a rabies tag.

Be patient
Works great. Make sure you have the Ring downloaded correctly and follow instructions. It takes a while for it to get through the system. I hope your dog never needs to have to be found.
