Works for Coffee Stains
I bought this in a last-ditch attempt to remove stubborn coffee stains from my teeth. I drink prodigious quantities of coffee, and I like it strong and black. The only downside (besides getting heartburn and having to take Prilosec on a regular basis) is that it leaves stains on my front teeth. I visit the dentist twice a year, and each time the hygienist spends about 30 minutes scraping them off. Within a month, however, new stains are already visible. I've tried many things to keep them at bay long enough to last until my next cleaning. I use whitening toothpastes (Crest 3D and Sensodyne Extra Whitening), which help some but not completely. I also bought a cheap dental scaler at the drugstore and tried scraping them off to no avail. Perhaps the stainless steel was not hard enough, or perhaps I wasn't using the right technique, but it just didn't work. That's when I came across this thing. I was skeptical, but for the price I thought I had nothing to lose. It actually worked, though with much effort. The tips are made of what appears to be a very hard, vulcanized rubber. They're firm and rigid, not soft or flexible at all. As the picture indicates, there are two tips: one broader, the other finer. When I first started using it, I rubbed and rubbed for about a minute or two and saw no results. I was actually about to call it quits when I thought I'd persevere a little longer. Voila--after a few minutes I noticed the stain I was working on appeared to be getting lighter. After about 5 minutes it was entirely gone. I then proceeded to remove several of the other more noticeable stains on my front teeth. I wasn't able to get deep in between my teeth because even the narrow tip is too large in diameter to reach those difficult places. Only a fine dental pick can do that. I'm happy, though, as I was able to remove the more visible and unsightly stains that were tarnishing my smile. My gums were a bit irritated when I finished because some of the stains were really close to the gum line, but that's unavoidable and even happens when I visit the hygienist. As I was rubbing, I also noticed a bluish color on my teeth, which I assume was from the rubber tip. It wasn't a problem, though--I just made sure to rinse frequently and not to swallow it in case there was anything toxic in it. This device won't remove stains that have been absorbed into the tooth enamel (only bleaching will do that), but if you're looking for something to remove stubborn surface stains, this is worth a try.

and when I say "barely" understand I mean like 5 seconds
Well, I will say it started working ok, but I had literally, barely started using it, and when I say "barely" understand I mean like 5 seconds. The tip on the side that supposedly was built to go in between teeth just ... broke off. Now it's useless. It's said to be rubber. But there is no way rubber just breaks like thin glass. I guess you really do get what you pay for. But this ... I wish I could just get my money back and pretend this never happened. I would have been better off just using a toothpick. At least I would have known what I was getting. And to think you had reviewers saying things like "Oh my dentist recommended this". What BS

Yes, it works.
So I was skeptical of this thing that "erases" tooth stains, but as a coffee drinker, I was starting to get self-conscious of the staining that was beginning to set in. And for how inexpensive the product is, I thought, "Why not?"Here's the deal. This product is a mild abrasive. I did some research and found out that in the long run under normal usage, you will be able to remineralize any minor abrasion caused by the use of the eraser either by natural means or by using a remineralizing mouthwash or toothpaste. Whew, that's a relief.I started getting to work the last few nights. There's two sides, one side for between teeth, and another side better for working on the flat surfaces. I worked on my top two teeth the first night for a few minutes, really getting in the cracks and have been repeating the routine for a few days now, going to different teeth and getting more spots I missed on the teeth I did already. This thing really did erase the staining beginning to form between my teeth and along my gum-line. I suppose you could do everything in one session, but it might take up to 200 strokes (I think I read that somewhere) to get everything off (and could be why one negative reviewer thought it didn't work). Breaking the task down really helped me make the task easier. So it works eventually, now here's some other stuff you need to know:If you have any sort of sensory issues with anything rubbing on your teeth, you might not be able to use it, depending on your tolerance level. I personally have this problem, but the abrasive action was not bothersome enough for me to not use the eraser. The texture is not "rubbery" like I thought it would be, it was more "gritty," but it was a fine enough grit for me to not be bothered by it thankfully. Also, as the negative reviewer stated, it does break down a bit and leave some debris on your teeth. This also really didn't bother me very much because when I'm done using the product, I can brush and if I need to, floss to get it out. I do imagine the contents of the eraser will wear out eventually, and be of no use, but I've been using mine for a few days and even though little bits rub off, They still look new, so I'm sure one would be able to clean their teeth before the whole thing wears down.So even with the couple mild negatives, it's not enough to remove a star. I liked the immediate results of using this eraser and would recommend this to anyone who would like whiter teeth between dentist visits.

so expect to wait a good two weeks to get your mitts on it
Yeah, these things degrade as you use them, but they DO get coffee and tea stains out. Wish they had a product to help with my meth-mouth problem. I'm saving up for rehab though. AND dental reconstruction. Kids: Stay in school and DON'T do drugs. [Okay, the snarky second sentence was a joke, but I was serious about the first one. This product ships from Japan, so expect to wait a good two weeks to get your mitts on it.]

AMAZING- This stuff is literally magic!!!
This is amazing! It's magic, no other way to put. I purchased this honestly cause it was so cheap compared to other products.I had one large stain which was a couple years old on my front tooth from a variety of bad habit, and it was time to do something about it. After trying out whitening strips, specialized toothpastes and some other old tricks I decided to give this one a shot. Though I never believed for asecond that it would be effective at all.To those who complain about it not whitening, well, it simply is not supposed to, this removes stains.I received a very cheap looking product. It was virtually nothing. Just a small plastic tube, similar to a very cheap mini pen with a small grey pointytip on 2 sides. The tube itself is just to hold it in place, the smaller piece is the double sided tip with the magic stuff on it. It's basically an eraser, you use it like one and it works like one. I started to rub the tip on my stain. After maybe 80 seconds it was completely gone. I could not believe it.I still can't. BUT IT WORKS. The best part is after I was done the little magic wand still looked new. No noticeable amount of the "stuff" was removed from the eraser, and it's double sided so you have two! This should last forever and remove your stains with almost no effort.

Works
I have cancer and I've been hanging in there long past expected. I've been doing chemo for almost 8 years. Due to all my medications, (especially zometa) I can't go to the dentist. Honestly, I never expected to live long enough for that to be an issue. But it has been. I take very good care of my teeth-I use an oral irrigator, I then brush and floss, both with a regular toothbrush and then an electric one and I finally use mouthwash and peroxide and a European gel to keep gums healthy. So imagine my surprise when a brown area of tarter appeared despite my efforts. I drink a half s cup of coffee a day and don't smoke and it only appeared on one tooth. Weird.I wasn't there one day and next I looked-I had a smokers tooth. Black. Ick.I needed to get it off but I have super sensitive teeth so didn't want to try steel. so I searched and found this tool.Well, I did scrub for about an hour, but it worked. The before/after pictures speak for themselves. The only issue is that it is a crooked tooth that got dirty and I can't get between them with this tool so there is still a line of brown. If it had a much smaller edge it'd be better. The plaque is also in bumps in the tooth next to it and this tool only works on a flat area. So I will have to use a steel dental scraper anyway. However, this little tool worked well, was gentle on my tooth and I can use it if this ever happens again. I recommend it as long as you aren't trying to get between teeth.I'm going to up my oral hygiene game even more. I spend 20 minutes a day on teeth, not I bought more products for more work. If I'm going to live, I need clean teeth!

Amazing!
This is great! Believe me, as everything in life you just have to be handy. If you're not handy, just go to the hygienist. This isn't a powered tool, you have to take your time, but with patience it works as described. The only downside is that the Point shape to reach inside the teeth will go away quickly, but what can you ask for such a little money? Buy more than one if you have to do a more serious job. I'll tell you, this thing will get the job done, no matter how bad your stains are, again, it just takes more time and patience. This is a mild abrasive device (way better and safer than the fast super abrasive tools your hygienist use), that will give you amazing results. You can still using this tool until there isn't any more abrasive surface, it always works well at the same intensity. Again, of course, the shape will not be the same, so if you need to clean a lot in between teeth, you have to buy more than one. While you use it, you have to rinse you mouth and the stain eraser constantly, because the residue of the abrasive material could confuse you with your real stains.I will buy this again! My front bottom teeth in the inside were black and unpolished, a mix of tobacco use and colorant from ice pops, tea etc. Now my teeth are completely white and smooth!!! I will buy it again for sure. For the record, I wasn't so careful while using it, and I kind of scratched a bit my gums, but nothing to worry. Just be careful when you're reaching down by the gums.

Not worth it.
Not something I would purchase again.Cons: I originally purchased this item to try and take out some of the stains on my teeth, but I haven't used it in a long while. It just never did the job. I couldn't see any difference, and after the first couple of times, I just stopped. I put it in my purse, and then finally threw it away.Pros: It is very convenient; travel size. But of course, I never saw a difference, so the size of it doesn't matter.
