EDIT: I just purchased a second one. It was available at roughly half price. It is not as good as the first one. I used it today and my fears were realized: the two parts almost split when I connected them, and when I used it to move something very lightweight, it almost broke completely apart. It’s a shame, because the first one is still in perfect shape. ORIGINAL review: This is a very well made, very sturdy dressing stick. I have used a similar one for over three years, but this new one has a larger circumference around the “stick” and I’m sure will last for years. If I would ever want another dressing stick (perhaps as a gift), I will definitely purchase one of these.

I don’t even “need” this thing- but I LOVE using it! I can reach everything on the top bunk or down the steps in my RV without climbing or taking baby gates down! Very convenient! Sturdy! Very useful!

I bought this so that I could take it in my hand luggage on a plane. After taking it to Spain, it broke after first use. The wood split where it connects and the bit that it screws in to came out. The user was using it to push his trousers down. The company said that it is not strong enough for this purpose and should only be used for a coat. They did give me a full refund and were easy to communicate with, however this product is advertised as a dressing stick not a coat aid! We have the dressing sticks that are solid and they work brilliantly, it's a shame there are no good ones that can fit in a handbag.

I'm a physical therapist and I work with many people that need dressing hooks for various reasons. I just bought two, one for myself and one for a client. I like this because the Dow is thick enough and it's very sturdy it's not this flimsy wood that you will see elsewhere. It also screws together so you can unscrew it and then it can therefore pack easy if you're traveling and you need it when you're traveling. I really like this dressing hook and for the money! It was cheap Go buy it you'll be happy.

This item did not work for my elderly mother. You need to have pretty good dexterity to manage. If she only needed it to remove her socks it would have worked well but not for putting on a shirt or jacket. I would have returned it but the cost of shipping it back was the same as the cost of the product. No pre paid label although it is not clear when buying that you will have to pay to ship back if returning. Disappointing experience all around
