Hello, Based on our sizing chart for this product listed on the main Amazon product page (top left-hand corner of the screen; second image down) the max tolerance for our 2XL size brace is going to be a 22 inch knee circumference (likely about an inch and half plus for actual circumference measurement of the brace itself depending on how it is tightened). The measurement should be taken 2 inches below the center of the knee cap. are the stays metal or hard plastic
