I have never setup a smart anything and these were very easy to install. I connected them to my mini hub as well as alexa and they worked amazingly! These solar chargers are a must, so your motors are always ready to do the job!

I have big windows above my backyard door that I've been meaning to put curtains on, but because they are not easily accessible, automating it is necessary. Another important thing is to be able to charge it with solar due to its place. Switchbot curtain meet those requirements, while not require any maintenance. Setting it up with the app is very easy, and it's able to configure both curtains as one. I've also integrated it with home assistant to automatically open and close at sunrise and sundown. You can also do this with the Switchbot app. I've had it running for about 3 weeks now, and the battery stay charged at about 90%. Not sure why it doesn't go higher but it does the job. The only complain I have is the noise, due to my house's layout, I can hear it in every corner of my house. Something to keep in mind if you're putting it in a bedroom. There's quiet mode too if you can't stand it.

I waited to get SwitchBot due to the need for HomeKit integration. I recently installed the SwitchBot 3 with a solar panel and hub. The installation and HomeKit integration was a breeze. The functionality is seamless. The solar panel has ensured that the battery is always fully charged. I highly recommend this.

These little bots are great! They easily manage our *heavy*, super long velvet blackout curtains on a super wide track which contains two curves (12+ ft). They also have insanely helpful customer service -- I sent them an email inquiring about compatibility with I-rail and they shipped the adapters out immediately. I particularly appreciate the "quiet creep" mode (they're a little whine-y on the full speed mode, but super silent on the slower quiet mode). You do not need their hub in order to set a schedule, which I also really appreciate!

I read the reviews that it didn’t work well in places that didn’t receive a lot of sunlight. Well my place has a lot of sunlight but even then it didn’t frequently charge. There were no obstructions either.

I read the description repeatedly and all of the reviews trying to find out if this would work in my north facing window that doesn't get direct sunlight, but I couldn't find much. Everything I read said it works best with direct sunlight, but I decided to try it out anyway and it works great! I've been using the solar panel charger with my SwitchBot for 2 months now and it stays charged enough to open and close the curtains daily in addition to when we watch TV/movies and need to close and open the curtains a few extra times.My only complaint is about the SwitchBot itself. I have to keep adjusting the time my curtains open and close as days become longer/shorter. I wish this was factored into the app and settings to do automatically.
