I spent many hours researching different types of security lights. I was debating between the Steinel and Auraglow and decide t on getting the Steinel. The product came in a smaller box with all the fittings inside. The instructions were clear and was put on as a new light versus replacing an old one. The electrician immediately commented the build quality and reputable brand name (I have no clue what was great and glad my research paid off). The white version really helps it blend in with the soffit above my garage and looks great. I was originally nervous whether the smaller version would be large enough above a single garage and driveway and nearly bought the XL version instead. However, it produces a near blinding light to illuminate the area and you can adjust the density and duration with two twist adjusters underneath the unit. The XL would’ve been overkill in my opinion. The fact you can angle it so you (don’t) annoy your neighbours is great and the motion sensor picks you up really well. A good tip to get the light on at your preferred darkness is to actually go out stand underneath and wait for it to go off. Then slowly turn the dial until it comes on again, that way it will always come on at the time you’d like it to! This is the best looking security light versus those black plastic ones you get at your local comprehensive schools. I can’t comment on longevity as just got it fitted but no doubt this will last.

A really good, bright light made out of robust high quality plastics. I think this light will last a long time. It was straight forward to instal, made easier by the fact that you first wire in a plug, separate to the main unit, and then plug it in to the main unit (similar products have to be wired directly into the unit whilst it precariously dangles 10 feet off the ground and you balance up a ladder). The light is bright and very responsive. It can be directed at many different angles to suit your needs. I definitely recommend this as good value.

Nice light and the new LED panel is superior. However, it is baffling why Steinel would completely change the layout of the mounting plate from the previous design to its replacement design. The wire enters from the opposite side and the holes are 5mm further apart. This means you have to redrill new holes in an exterior wall and you can’t position the light in the same place. Very dumb for a company so focused on design. Also the perfectly flat surface against the wall, which will hold water where the light and wall meet, isn’t smart. Everything else is good.

I have these security lights at the front of my house, they are the best, previously ordered from amazon no problem with delivery. I ordered some more for the back of my house, security lights arrived on time, but were very badly packed, two lights boxed in a huge cardboard box, no padding or stuffing around boxes, lights could be easily damaged... will have to wait and see when electrician comes to fit ... very disappointed. I never write reviews but felt I had to complain because obviously the packer could not be bothered to pack the items properly, which could leave me with damaged or faulty items, more care and consideration needed please, never had this problem before.

After seeming to be replacing my security light every couple of years I decided to pay more in the hope of a better quality one. Only time will tell, but first impressions are really good. The light feels very well made and was so easy to install and looks great on the wall - and most importantly gives a good amount of light. The angle of adjustment on both the sensor and the light are very impressive and miles better than any of the cheaper lights I have used in the past. I have only given a 3 for the motion detection because this has been a bit of a struggle to set up in my circumstances. I have a long narrow drive and have found it difficult to get the angle of the sensor in the right location to be able to detect movement early enough. According to the spec sheet it has a long enough reach to cover my drive, but I have yet to find the position that works.

Loved the styling and and versatility of this security light but it only lasted for 2 years and 7months for me. A premium costing product but not a premium lasting product. The motion sensor and ability to alter the lights duration and when it comes on it worked well when it was working. One design fault is that in high winds the light panel can move so it can be blown flat so not pointing outwards not an issue if you have easy access to it to put it back. I will see if the company honour the guarantee but the unit will need sending off to a service centre which I am yet to find the address of. Just a really shame it’s not built to last.

A product example of you get what you pay for. This is a high quality and extremely efficient security light that performs as you might expect. The 14W LED output is more than sufficient to illuminate our 20M wide by 12M deep garden, I was sceptical When I ordered it, but not now. The 12M detection range is also very good and it’s anti-creep mode works well, that is trying to get past the sensor by moving very slowly. The light can be rotated through 180° as can the sensor controls for sensitivity and light activation level also work well. Installation is easily achieved with all fixings supplied. Overall an excellent product with a 5-year warranty.

Bought on 2 Aug 2022, Looks great , love the warm white, and works a treat, only down side is it simply isnt bright enough to illuminate my entire back garden(which is ony small anyway) Fine for the patio directly below the installation. I am now just leaving a review (18/10/24) as i have just noticed an issue, see pictures, the front diffusser has broken away from the main unit exposing the led's inside to the elements. Good thing i noticed and have glued it back together or it could have been dangerous.

Geeft goed licht, helaas is dit de 2e al waarvan de afdekkap die over de leds heen zit los komt.
