Yes. KiwiGrip isn’t a sealant and has microscopic pores allowing water to reach the substrate. While it adheres well to metal, an epoxy primer is needed to protect against water damage.

What do you mean when you say "adjustable texture"?

KiwiGrip's non-skid texture is created by its "loopy-goopy" roller, with pressure controlling the aggressiveness of the peaks. Test on a small area first to achieve your desired level of anti-skid before applying to the whole deck.

How do I achieve a more aggressive texture?

For a very aggressive texture, let the coating partially dry, then back-roll to sharpen the peaks. Test by back-rolling every 5 minutes to find the ideal timing as KiwiGrip thickens but isn’t tacky.

How can I get an even coating thickness?

Apply KiwiGrip with a 4" brush or notched trowel for even thickness, then texture with the roller. Use two thin coats on darker surfaces for better coverage.
