Harina PAN Pre-Cooked Yellow Maize Meal - 1kg

My daughter watched encanto and wanted me to make some arepas which are featured in the film.... This is the type of corn flour to use for that, it has to be relatively large grain and pre cooked, which this is. Not much else to say about it. I'm sure there are other brands that work too but this is the one I was recommended to use so I tried it and it works. I used mozzarella for the cheese and kept it simple but I could easily see it being good with some extra stuff in there. Maybe a little salsa or some fresh basil leaves... My daughter wanted the basic ones though and this worked well.

Being of South American descent I ALWAYS have this in my cupboard for whipping up some homemade tortillas or arepas. It’s excellent quality with the traditional taste I love. I can’t find this in general supermarkets in the UK, so even though it’s more expensive here, I know I can always order some when I need to stock up. Pan will always be my go to brand for quality! Arrived super fast, well packaged and tastes great, I’ll definitely order again. ✨
