Great for baking & worth the cost
Amazing for baking. I use it in chocolate cake, brownies and cupcakes. Well worth the cost. When you open it, the coffee smell is fresh and delicious and rich so you know it is of good quality and not stale.

Good quality, small container lasts a long time.
I got this for baking and for adding flavor to my varied hot morning beverages. It works wonders for baking, in whatever quantity you choose. It is a very fine powder and mixes in well for a subtle rich flavor that isn't at all overpowering. It adds flavor to hot beverages like a coffee-less mocha I tend to make as well. My only complaint, which is the reason for the 1 star reduction. I had this about a year, used maybe half the container or slightly more. I hadn't used in a couple months and the powder had solidified at the bottom of the container into a solid chunk. Trying to mix it made a brittle mess, and I ended up tossing what was left. I tried tasting it, and it tasted bitter, but that may very well be the normal taste too, I've never tried it alone even fresh. With that said, I did order another container because when fresh this stuff is great.

Have bought many times
Very convenient when I don't feel like using my French press. The taste is much better than any instant coffee I've used. If my French press coffee isn't strong enough, I add a bit of this to make it stronger.

Amps up the flavor of chocolate desserts
Was curious to try this espresso powder in chocolate desserts due to hearing about it from a few tv cooks. Was wondering if it makes that much of a difference as they say it does. Well, I can say it does for me. I found it enhanced the chocolate flavor a bit. It does not make things taste like they have a coffee flavor, just more of a chocolate flavor. It says on the package to use 1/2 teaspoon to two teaspoons. I just used 1/2 teaspoon in a cookie recipe and it was enough to notice a difference. I put it in with the wet ingredients near the beginning. I also used 1 teaspoon in another recipe that calls for it and it really amped up the chocolate flavor. It says on the package that you can also use two to four teaspoons of this espresso powder to make coffee. But that I have not tried.

A little expensive but really good flavour in the baking.

I had bought it specifically for use in Nigella’s no churn coffee ice cream taken from Nigellissima. Historically, I have made this without said product as I could never find it online, anywhere, at a reasonable price. So, I have variously substituted coffee granules, ground coffee and a small amount of liquid espresso. They have all worked OK but I am interested to see if the ‘right stuff’ (and Ms Lawson was quite adamant on her website that it does) actually makes a difference. It’s always interesting to try a new product. Well turns out that Ms Lawson is on the money. I made it for Australia Day as we’d had a surfeit of meringue based desserts over the holiday period. This product adds a rich, depth of flavour that the substitutes do not. It was absolutely delicious. Yes it’s expensive but if you love coffee you’ll love this.

This powder made a slightly richer taste when used with cocoa powder in cakes , but I think it was overpriced for what it is. Also, before I'd use it all, it went hard in the jar. I wouldnt buy it again but wanted to try it after reading its acclaim!
