I bought this expecting to hardly ever use it. And then almost immediately after I bought it I had to take it into work to fix the threads on a subframe in a car. Pretty decent size bolt too. Had to use one of the bigger size taps. Wasn't sure how well it was going to hold up being a cheap tap and die set. But it ended up doing the job just fine. For the price I would definitely recommend this. Some of the tap and die handles leave a little to be desired. But overall I really can't complain about any of it

For the money, this is an amazing set. The quality is good, and having all of the metric sizes on hand is great. As the owner and technician of an automotive facility, I use taps and dies almost daily. I have $800 sets from Snap-On and Matco that are obviously of higher quality, but for the oddball sizes and occasional use, this set is excellent. Very few sets come with all of the oddball sizes, but this set is COMPLETE. An excellent value.

So far, so good. They work when needed and have had the sizes we need. I bought them to keep my Air Station open and they did the trick.

Since some of the taps had fallen out of their slots I took the time to sort and put them in the right places. The taper on the end of the taps appear to have been ground by hand, sometimes removing the cutting edge completely, rendering them useless. Also missing a couple small taps. Did not use, am returning and going to Harbor Freight where I can examine before I buy.

Very nice set overall. Used about 8 times so far on 3 different taps. These cut very well and did not have any problems tapping in various types of steel. I like having the set contained in one container. So far I have been very impressed with the taps and I assume the rest of the dies will be the same quality

Received this tap and die set today and i'm impressed with the packaging and presentation. Unlike many tool sets that arrive in a similar cases not one tap or die had come loose. All 110 items were securely in their allotted compartment. Now for $40.00 I realize these are not HSS (high speed steel) but an almost identical HSS set from Grangers is listed at $950.00. I did a few tests using the correct size pilot drill (very important) some tapping fluid and backing off after every turn and the results are impressive. With care I believe this set will do all that I need at a huge savings ?

Really good. Very complete in terms of variety and good material quality.

For a weekend DIY guy, this was a great investment. I’ve already used it enough that it paid for itself in a pretty short time instead of buying individual taps and dies as I needed them. Good selection, works well, and the price is hard to argue with.
