C.Crane Digital FM Transmitter 3 for Mobile Phone or Audio Device to Nearby FM Radio - for Churches, Gyms, Correctional Facilities

We are pleased with the ease of use of the FM Transmitter. We used it to broadcast vocal tracks from an iPhone to others so that we could practice singing songs together while wearing earbuds.

I first used this C Crane transmitter way back in 2003 before that I was using another brand which was constantly malfunctioning ( I had bought 5 of those over a 6 year period between 1995 and 1999 the last one finally bit the dust in 2002) I can say this transmitter is solid and with good care and proper maintenance it will last years my first one lasted for well over a decade And I never modified it or tried to I only use a wire attached to an alligator clip to maximize the overall signal strength for all the radios in my home if you live in an apartment complex the signal can reach immediate neighbors above or below you and Maybe the car radios in the parking lots nearby ( my experiences at least) and all this without having to illegally modify the device as this is a part 15 FCC approved device. The sound quality is stellar for what it is I use mixers and my tablet and computer audio as well as CD players for my audio programming for the Transmitter it's been a long time hobby and always check the unused FM frequencies as the quality may vary and some FM stations signals tend to bleed into those unused frequencies so you will need to experiment and test to get the best results I highly recommend this transmitter as I'm a seasoned user and I can say I'm very satisfied with this transmitter

Works great and glad I bought it lots of fun with the family

I am a geocacher and a numbers station enthusiast. I have wanted to have my own numbers station for a few years now. Today I finally got it. A fellow geocacher gave me an idea. I just had to figure out how to execute it.So I did the research. I had been hearing about C.Crane, for a least 10 years, advertised on the Coast to Coast AM radio show. The research I did told me that I didn’t need an FCC license for broadcasting if my transmission went no further than 200 feet. Most of the devices I found here ranged from .2 to .5 miles in broadcast range. I’m in a time in my life where I’m done being sneaky snd squirrely and just would rather not risk being fined or getting in trouble with anyone or any agency. I researched near broadcast devices and I this device kept coming up so I decided to give it a try.I found the cheapest mp3 player that I could find that had the repeat loop feature. I created a transmission on Adobe Premire and uploaded it to the mp3 player and I paired this device and the mp3 together by simply using the 3.5 mm Jack and now I have a numbers station broadcasting from my dining room. I have the device and set up on the window sill and I’ve done the measurement and this device broadcasts 193 feet from where it is set up. No rules or regulations or laws broken. It works on AC and batteries. You know I put fresh batteries in it in case the power goes out, can’t have my numbers station go down for all of those rabid cachers.I didn’t read the manual at first at all because why? The red button on the front is the power and the input level control needs to be up so that the receiver can broadcast the transmission. Also, you need to play with the station you pick if you want it picked up in a car. There were some available stations that I couldn't get to pick up my transmission and I’m not sure why. I’m not that smart or well-versed in the radio sciences. I can’t speak to the longevity of the device. It was great for the price. Enjoy this little thing. Get creative. Go wild!

After using a Scosche FM T4RA battery operated transmitter for 13 years, I wanted to replace it with a plug-in transmitter. Even though it still works good, I wanted to get away from having to purchase batteries.The compact size of the C. Crane FM Transmitter 3, build quality & option of using batteries or the adapter fit into what I was looking for in a new transmitter for my iPod Classic. Previous reviews stated the challenge of setting the input level of the music being broadcast. They were not kidding! In the user manual, it states that the volume on the transmitter should be turned down to the point of the flashing input light going from red to green. This way the unit is not over modulating. I found turning down the input helped, but there were some songs that would still sound like they were clipping & the light would be flashing green. Turning the volume down further helped, but it got to the point where the overall output was very low & sounded flat & noisy. I tried adjusting the iPod volume level lower than I used for the Scosche transmitter, then adjusting the input on the C. Crane transmitter, but that didn't help. The final deal breaker for this transmitter was when I discovered it was playing what should be on the right channel in the original recording, was playing on the left. At the same time, what should be on the left channel was playing on the right. Somebody crossed the wires somewhere in the manufacturing process of this unit. I double-checked playing the same music through the old Scosche transmitter that I have & it played the right/left channels true to the original recordings. It was all a disappointment., so I returned the unit back to Amazon/C.Crane. I haven't had much luck with plug-in FM transmitters. A few years ago, I had a Canadian transmitter that broadcast some songs like the station wasn't tuned in properly. To this day, I don't know what caused this issue, but It got returned to the manufacturer, too. I think I'll be sticking with the Scosche because ALL the songs sound consistently great & the unit operates hassle-free.

barley has any range. Buy something else

This is a very good transmitter that works very well as long as you have empty bandwidth to use where you live. I love the ability to transmit music and podcasts from my phone or MP3 player to my quality radio speakers. I feel it's a good value if this is something you could use.

Does exactly what it says it does. Easy to set up and has decent sound quality. It is low power (by law) but works well for me throughout my small house.
