Brilliant idea , I bough this to pair with my obdII tracker , it works perfectly . Stopped all false alerts and stopped me having to manually turn off alerts for movement and vibration every time I drove the car .THE only downside to this product in my opinion is the Bluetooth range is a little too far , if your car is on the drive and the keys are near the door the tracker won’t reactivate because the Bluetooth fob is too close to the car , but if you have a keyless car and store your keys in a faraday box for extra security it will solve this problem

This is my second Carlock Tag. I had one two years ago with my old car and it was useless then. Would only work when it felt like it, so I sent it back for a refund.Two years later, June 2022, I decided to buy another Carlock Tag with the thought that this should be an updated version with more reliable firmware. But no, it is still as bad as the one I bought in 2020. No change cosmetically and probably still the same firmware. I then decided to remove the Basic Carlock device and bought the Premium one, that plugs into your OBD, thinking that this would be better.Again, no change in reliability. The Tag just activates and deactivates when it feels like it and it is far quicker just to open the app and do it yourself.When I’m at home or go shopping and it hasn’t activated. I have to open the app and manually activate it. But then, if it hasn’t deactivated and I’m driving down the road, as it is set to “Critical Alert”, my phone goes off very loud and scares the life out of me. If you have an iWatch, that goes off and vibrates too. It kinda gets confused to what state the tracker is in. Then it activates, realises I’m in the car, then deactivates itself.Carlock support advises to open the app and do it manually. So, what is the point of owning this Tag, if you have to operate the tracker manually from time to time? I can see why the batteries do not last very long. When this battery becomes flat, I’ll throw the Tag away.Keep your money and put it to better use.

The carlock tracking and alert system is superb.

Easy to set up, however, VERY slow to connect with the tracker, if it does connect at all!!Had to email CarLock and the reply I got was to open the carlock app and wait!!! Sorry your tag is advertised in the video that at a distance it will deactivate you're tracker for you. Don't buy as its quicker to open the app and deactivate it yourself. It can be a good product, however, needs a lot more work on it.UPDATE: I’m using another tag and this one seems to work a lot better.

When I bought my Tag I had a message to say I would receive an email when my Tag is registered in a couple of days. Its now been well over a week and I've still not had an email and it's still not connected. If I eventually do get the promised emai and it does work I will update my review. Its now been registered over 2 weeks later. It does register to my CarLock but I can be in my car, started and driven away before it disables the CarLock. When I leave my car and lock it then walk away it take ages before the CarLock will re-activate again. But at least it works (very slowly). A further update: it is now working much better but it is still not disabling or enabling as I walk to me car but its now a lot better. I have just ordered one for my wife's car as she always forgets to switch hers on her phone. I now have an update on this TAG: It is now working, its good but on my car it's just a little slow on disabling. I got one for my wife's car and it started working right away and it registers the CarLock very quickly. We are now happy with these TAG'S and would highly recommend them. I will now purchase another CarLock and TAG for my van

A perfect addition to the carlock tracker

The first "tag" was returned and I ordered another to give this a fair chance.Its dead cheap but totally useless - the tag rarely deactivates the alerts when I enter the car and when I start up the carlock sends an alarm to my phone - and sometimes that's a long time later.I was driving and talking using hands free and out of the blue the alarm sounds - which both parties can hear - annoying.It should activate the alerts when I walk away from the car - but it rarely does this either.It fails to pair with my phone when I get into the car - the tag has been placed under the flap on the drivers side vanity mirror - so within two feet of the phone in my pocket and still the phone doesnt detect the tag.A complete waste of money

Very easy to install and use! Worked perfectly with Android phone (samsung). Very light.Worth it. Can be used on wallet or a key chain.

Carlock works perfectly fine with out tag, no need for tag it doesn't work too well. Better of with out it.

Funktioniert soweit sehr gut, könnte beim verlassen des Fahrzeugs etwas schneller den Alarm aktivieren. Momentan ca. (3-6min.)

As with many other purchasers the Carlock tag is unreliable at best and worthless at worst. One star is being generous.While the jury is still out on the Carlock product itself, but I can confidently say the actual Carlock Tag product doesn't work.I went through the pairing instructions in the app and I can arm Carlock, set the Carlock tag one inch away from the phone and it will never disarm. However, if I go into my phones bluetooth devices the phone itself can see the carlock tag as an in-range available bluetooth device even though the app can't see it.In the reverse I can disarm carlock put the carlock tag on the other side of the house and carlock will never arm even though my phone now shows the carlock tag is no longer a bluetooth device in range.I have reset the carlock tag battery in the device, deleted and readded the carlock tag in the app, rebooted the phone, etc. and it just doesn't work.Best case,if I let the phone and tag sit together for 5 to 10 minutes or so it may eventually disarm or separate the phone and tag for 5 to 10 minutes it will arm but that multiple minute lag in functionality makes the Carlock Tag worthless as who wants their automated Carlock Tag Arm/Disarm system to take 5 to 10 minutes or more to arm/dis-arm and that only works maybe 10% of the time.I am returning the tag to get my $20 back.
