This is a well designed and sturdy item. However it is important to know that the fitment is for a "standard" 1/4" tripod screw mount. These are usually only found on cheap consumer tripods which screw directly into the camera. Any enthusiast tripod (or mic stand) will have a 3/8" thread mounting screw. While there are both 1/4" and 3/8" screw holes at the base of the holder for directly attaching to a tripod, if you want to use the excellent little ballhead included to allow angling of the ipad you will need to get a 3/8" to 1/4" adapter. These are cheaply available and it would have been nice if one had been included with this otherwise excellent product.

When purchasing the stand, I bought the aluminium one instead of the plastic as I was worried the stand might break.It’s great with all the different functions and the several ways you can position the iPad but the one thing I have to complain about is how unsafe it is.Obviously to keep the iPad from falling out or dropping it has to be held tight but that means you need a lot of force to get the strap open enough to position the iPad in. The padding on the bottom section keeps sliding around as well which doesn’t make me feel like the iPad is secure.Another problem I have is that when you want to use the position whereby it’s lying down a bit on top of a tripod, it doesn’t fasten and starts swirling around which means you can’t tighten it. Again another safety issue.Not a bad product because it does it’s job but could be made better and more stable.

Great, sturdy item. I bought this to hold my son’s iPad on a tripod, so his tutor could see his keyboard during his online piano lesson.I had previously bought a plastic iPad holder but it last about an hour before the retaining clip snapped and I had to return it. This one is made of metal and so it’s much more durable.It’s also handy that it has a spring loaded holder for different sized tablets, as well as a stand so it can just be rested on a table top.

Soo easy to use - much better than the hovering hand holding the iPhone over a document. Robust and does the job. A great solution to scanning docs from Doc to Word - use with IRIScan app. The use of this equipment and the app saved me over £300 in buying unnecessary scanning kit

Absolutely awful. I purchased this with the tripod that was recommended (on amazon) and I attached the project to the tripod. It was slack, but still usable. I attached my new iPad Pro 12.9” onto it and the product feel off the tripod, came straight out of the screw. my iPad fell, I caught it but it had scraped down the grooves on the tripod and has smashed the camera and Face ID of my iPad.I’m absolutely raging, and dissapointed in both products.

This arrived promptly and wS securely packed. It held the ipad well. Unfortunately it was my tripod that was not quality. So I could have had a better experience if I invested into a tripod. My bad

Great mount for my iPad. I was more concerned that this was a solid piece of kit rather than worry about the weight. It certainly is as it is made of aluminium rather than plastic.

great for what I use it for. I have a tablet mounted on a tripod using this bracket. the clamps are sturdy and require a button press to release. the overall construction is solid and it has 2 mounting points on the rear and the base. However you do need to tighten up the thumb screws.
