Maclean Energy MCE25 Security Light PIR Motion Detector Auto Switch Security Sensor Long Range Wall Mounted

Simple installation with just three wires to connect to the internal connection block. Seems sturdy and well made, working perfectly at the moment. Great to have a sensitivity dial which when set low will pick up body movement but not plants moving in the wind (before this replacement my lights were going on and off all night on a windy night) Also has a lux dial to set light level at which it will switch lights on and a time dial so lights will stay on anywhere from 10 secs to 7 mins.

A neat looking pir sensor in grey. Seems well enough made for the reasonable price of £8.95. Used this to replace the original inbuilt pir in our outdoor lights, so was able to avoid throwing the whole light unit into landfill for the sake of failed electronics. Simple and well explained 3 wire connection. Fairly clear controls for Lux, Duration settings. This unit also has a helpful sensitivity adjustment which could help with false trigger issues. This might save lights going on and off at night due to minor movement issues. We hope that the unit is durable, but one can only tell with time, but if it functions for 5-10 years as the last ones have, at the price it would seem an ok buy

This item is reasonably well made if not particularly attractive. So far it does the job ok and glad to see there is a sensitive adjustment. the main grip is the single grommet for cable entry . That is the problem , only a single hole entry and Duh ! there are two cables required to be connected . One for the supply and one for the load. Virtually impossible to pass both cables through the grommet and even if you succeed the seal on the grommet is compromised. Do these manufacturers actually try to connect their product .?…? I drilled two holes in the back and used a sealer to make it weather proof. On the plus side the product is very inexpensive so probably good value.

Brilliant like for like replacement. The previous detector lasted around 10 years until the detector window cracked. Hope the new one lasts just as long.

Bought this to replace one which had stopped working. Easy to fit and worked straight away

Seems fine,takes a while to set up sensitivity but working ok. 1 inlet hole seems strange as there’s a lot of wires to fit in but I drilled another 1 in as there is space,

Item worked ok for a short while, but stopped working after 6 weeks. I had a quick look (as im a man, i like to fix things) and it seems there is no weatherproof seal. Not sure if there is supposed to be one and mine was missing the seal, or if its designed to not have a seal, but either way the water got in and now it doesnt work. Sometimes things are cheap for a reason.

Simple to fit and set up, good price and quick delivery.
