So good I bought two!
I pump exclusively, day in day out, and with my first born I used an advent electric - I wished to God I had bought this pump this time around!Pros - Good suction, easy to put together/take apart and clean, comes with spare parts (NEEDED, especially if using pump a lot - further explanation below), faster than an electric pump (got the milk fully out within 10 minutes for both sides after 2 hours as opposed to 30 minutes with the Advent electric), inexpensive to buy.Cons - Have to switch hands to stop cramping after a while. If using the pump frequently, the valves and the diaphragm stop working after a time. LANSINOH NO LONGER DO THE SPARE PARTS FOR THIS OLDER MODEL OF PUMP!! So, if the included spare parts fail on you, you're screwed basically and have to buy a whole new pump as I found out after contacting them (Lansinoh customer service however is fantastic) although the pump is so cheap (the cost of two tins of formula) it's not like it's a major financial shock to the system. My first two valves failed within a month I think, but that's after 7/8 pumping sessions a day, every day.TIPS - When I pump, I ALWAYS have to used one hand to hold the pump and the other to squeeze/massage the breast at the same time to help the suction suck the milk ducts to the fullest extent. If I didn't squeeze at the same time, I would only get about an ounce, if that, both sides out after 2 hours as opposed to the 3oz I typically get. Also, make sure you drink a lot of fluids as soon as you've finished a pumping session. And use nipple cream to help stop the breast getting sore from the suctioning. I'm reluctant to buy the new model they have as my two copies of this one have been so superb, but if my final diaphragm fails as well I'll have to!

Effortless and comfortable
Couldn't get on with the Avent, very painful and unsuccessful. Have used the Lansinoh for over 6months expressing at work now and it easily helps produce 5oz in a short session. Very comfortable and easy to use & clean, instantly it went from being a really painful experience where I thought I wouldn't be able to do it, to an easy and comfortable process. My advice would be to keep seeking a pump that suits you, if it hurts, you haven't found the one. When I started the first time with the Lansinoh it was effortless, a world of difference.Comes with lots of spare kit so when a valve ages there are spare parts on hand. The bottles are ideal for storage and easy opening (actually a really important feature which I learned after losing a lot of milk through storing in difficult to open pots which caused mass spillage every time - the stuff is such a labour of love to produce you learn to seek out the most protective kit to store it and waste none!)

Fantastic product!
I have worked my way through 2 electric pumps (Avent and Tommee Tippee) - both of which broke (Avent was replaced once and the second one still broke!) so I decided that I would give a manual a go - much less to go wrong and I can use it when I'm out and about if needs be!I'm so pleased that I did. This pump is easy to put together, looks good, is lightweight and works brilliantly. I've not found a difference between the amount of milk produced with an electric or with this manual pump so it just goes to show that it's got a good pump! The only flaw is that it takes longer to pump manually than with an electric but you'd find that with any manual pump.It comes with spare bits - the rubber bit at the top, the plastic part that pulls everything up and down (basically the bit that makes it pump) and the bit the milk comes out of in the bottle PLUS 2 bottles with lids. It also comes with a bottle holder although I've never used mine. The bottles themselves hold 5fl oz of milk - although you can get a bit extra in above the measurements.I think it's priced well and I'm really pleased that I decided to go manual.

a good value product that works!
The Lansinoh pump was easy to put together. The pump action is effective and I find it comfortable to use. It's easy to clean and doesn't take up too much space to store. It is easy to tip over/knock off as I have found when my expressed milk got spilled all over the floor! to avoid this make sure you screw the lid on the bottle when you've finished pumping.

Fantastic
Only breast pump I have ever bought, after reading all the excellent reviews, and I would buy it again in a second! You even get spare parts with it in case the small/delicate parts wear out with time or get lost, although I have not needed them so far and doubt I will for a long time. Really easy to assemble, disassemble and wash, works really well with no leaks and no squeaks, excellent vacuum, and I have used with or without the silicone comfort cushion, although I find it better with.Remember to read all the instructions if you are a "first time pumper", it takes practice!Only drawback is that it doesn't come with teats, but you could buy these separately for a standard bottle size. All our feeding bottles & teats are wide neck, so we just transfer the milk for feeding and use these ones for storage, especially as we would never heat up a full 5oz bottle in case baby's not that hungry!

Good...but will it last?
Pros:This operates silently and is very comfortable. It's easy to wash and comes with 2 bottles and other spare parts. The instruction manual is fairly straightforward. I *think* I get a good yield (3-4oz in 10 mins from 1 breast)Cons: Have had less than a month, used twice a day and the suction has gone. Am now going to try changing the valve (there are 2 spares), but had to go back to using my trusty Avent manual I purchased in 2007 (this has been used for 3 babies and still going strong, but does make nipples sore).
