Of Deathless Shadows (Alkrose Academy) Paperback – June 22, 2023

The characters. The storyline was very intriguing.. I really loved the shadows concepts.Despite the world being in chaos with war. The story progression with the world building was an interesting concept that i absolutely loved. Being left in the dark (lol) about secrets. But in a way that really helped the story and surprises for what came later.

Okay so this is my second book from Moronova and I am becoming a huge fan of her books. This book would have been EASILY a 4.5 star but there are a few things I was ehhhhhhh about. So I knocked it down to 4 stars.Okay but this plot GOT ME fast. I was hooked and the story building had a nice flow to it. I kept getting surprised with each twist and turn. It kept me going that's for sure.My only qualm was <B>WHY IS THERE A POV FROM THE BROTHER?</B>. I kept reminding myself Moronova had to have a reason for it just be patient but as of yet... I don't know why Edgar's POV is included. It's a bit much to follow IMO but I have faith in Moronova... we'll have to see in the second book. But... I really did struggle with Edgar's POV though. Not only could I not understand why his POV was included but his POV felt like it added no plot to the story. Can you tell this was a major issue for me LOLOverall, I thoroughly enjoyed the book and I cannot wait for the second book so I can see what Terra and the boys have in store (except Edgar... lol). It’s good don’t get me wrong, but some of the dialogue and decisions the characters make don’t make much sense or are a bit confusing and hard to follow, although that could just be the authors intention with the first book seeing as it’s a series. The characters are very complex which i love, although some of the povs that were included seemed unnecessary (again could just be the authors intent for the first book)Over all, would i recommend it to someone? yes.

I wanted to say that I love you and couldn’t get enough. I wish I had a shadow within me. Even though I’d probably end up dead. There was a lot going on in this story. It was dark, in the sense that there was a lot of death and blood. I’m rooting for our MC’s to have some sort of happy ending, but as of right now that light has yet to be seen. These characters are struggling and fighting to survive. This is a cruel and unknown world really, which we as the reader are still figuring out. I’m very excited for the second book to find out more and see if our girl ends up with who I think she might besides the ones shown in the first book.

I can’t explain what caught my attention from this book but I guess that’s what you get from KM. Everything she writes brings you into the story so you can share in the emotions of the characters on their journeys throughout the book. You get it from all different perspectives whether you like it or not.It’s both thrilling and confusing but has a beauty in it also. It’s like drowning in a lake of worlds, you can’t break the surface until you’ve reached the end and when you’ve come up for air your gasping from the pain, suffering and sadness they have endured.I’m so curious on how the story will continue and where it will go from there ending. Leaving off where you think you’ll finally get some relief but noooo KM can’t leave you satisfied within a series. It was such an enjoyable book. I will be waiting for book 2

It was just okay, and then a new MMC was introduced and then it was not good. The characters are too young. The MFC is not someone I liked. I was starting to like Elias and then Raine ruined it. To many POVs. I stopped reading at around 60% because I disliked it so much.

Once again - the magic and world in this book is completely unique. The way I become attached to her characters is a blessing and a curse.We love a bad ass FMC and Terra is no exception. Girlfriend takes what she wants and doesn't feel bad about it and I am HERE for it.This is for sure a why choose situation- but more of a "I don't have a choice because my shadow wants all the men".Vibes: The Bonds That Tie meets ACOTAR (kinda) meets Hunger Games (kinda).I wish the enemies to lovers aspect was stretched out a little more - because I'm a glutton for tension, angst and pressure build up. 😅I just cannot wait for this whole series to be on my shelf. I love K.M. Moronova's writing style and the way she can add some humor into the darkness.
