The life of the party!
This little gizmo has many different cool laser effects, I have no idea how it works. But it makes for a great dance party! I ran a fog machine for a few minutes and the lasers look super cool through the fog also.

Fun, Easy To Use
I ordered this light since my wife wanted to add atmosphere to a women’s ministry event she organized at our church. It was easy to use and did pretty much what she wanted so she was pleased with its performance. She set the light about 100 ft from the stage that was around 40 ft wide, connected it to an iMac via USB and kicked off the Propresenter software. This was all the light needed to give it power and it automatically started its light show. Note: it has an on/off switch so, you can prevent it from automatically lighting up when plugged in.My wife said she could not tell if the multi-varied light display changed with the beat of the music. However, its constantly changing patterns created the effect she hoped for and helped enhance the event. The remote has a timer function, which she did not use, but she did note that the case was still cool to the touch after running continuously for a little over two hours. Not having attended the event, I later tried this light at home in my Mancave where I unceremoniously turned the lights out and turned the music up. I set the light on top of one of my rear speakers and plugged it into a USB power strip.Initially, my experience was similar to hers in that I could not tell if the light patterns danced in time with the music nor could I get any response from the remote control. After 10 minutes or so, it did seem that the light patterns sometimes danced with the music. However, this was hit or miss so, it could have just been that the repeating set of patterns hit at a fortunate time. Also around this time, I began getting responses from the light after pressing various buttons on the remote — I.e., different light patterns, solid colors, etc. Now, I had been pressing the buttons before that to no effect and had been sitting less than 10 feet from the light at all times so, maybe it just needed to warm up before accepting input from the remote? This light comes with a trifold, two-sided, full color slip of instructions with English on one side and Chinese (?) on the other. The font is microscopic so, I did not torment myself by trying to read it. Instead, I just pushed buttons until I kind of figured out what they did.All we really wanted was a cool looking light show to go along with the music we were playing and that is what we got. You can push buttons to change the mode and get some variations (solid light instead of repeating patterns, red only patterns, green only patterns, etc.) but, this is really a simple device that shows the kind of light and patterns seen in the Amazon listing. As far as cons go (other than the tiny type on the instructions) neither my wife nor I saw any blue light on the walls as seen in the Amazon listing. I know I pushed every button on the remote and saw plenty of red or green, but no blue. The blue light on front of the machine did light up but, maybe it functions as the black? (Which I could not test since I no longer have any 1970’s era posters.) Maybe the tiny instructions explain this but I failed to read them? One other negative is that the case housing this light is all metal, but the mounting bracket/handle and its screws are plastic. They are made of lesser quality plastic, so I can see this (the mount, not the light) falling apart if you assemble/disassemble the light/mount often. Of course, if you set it up once and leave it, it may last for years.Overall, I am pleased with how this light functioned for us and how easily it can be powered up. In my experience, it filled the space with continually shifting light patterns of red & green and did a great job at it.If you just want a fun light show for parties, this may be the light for you but, if you want a professional Rock Star light show, keep looking.Hopefully, this review was helpful to you.

Small unit, big pleasing lighting effects!
I really like the DJ Disco Party Lights for its compact size and ability to produce a lot of patterns. A nice feature of this unit as well is that it runs from USB power which makes it a lot easier to connect to a USB buss if you are using the light at a show in conjunction with other lights. The remote control also performs as described. I didn't notice much change in overall effects in relation to being triggered by different types of music.I will primarily use the DJ Disco Party Lights for individual spotlighting when playing gigs. It does seem powerful enough to highlight an entire band, but I've found the best use so far is setting the unit in front of, behind, or to the side of one of our performers. Used in conjunction with other par can lights and laser light units, you can really produce a very nice light show that rivals some of the shows I've seen that use very expensive setups. As mentioned, the unit is rather small in comparison to other laser light products, but the effects more than make up for the small size, and the price point is just about right for a laser device for those on a budget. I highly recommend the DJ Disco Party Lights to anyone who'd like to add a little pizazz to their gig, show, DJ set up or even a small party or get together. There is just something awesome about having lights to brighten up a social function.
