Works well but dont push it
I would not push this to upper limits of weight it says it can handle. The rope just isnt good enough and stretches. Works for my use though and good for the price.

nice for the price
The one I purchased has 8 pulleys, so the effort is either 7:1 or 8:1 depending on how you tie off the end of the rope. The end has a small metal square attached. If you rest it against the bottom pully - it is 7:1 because the bottom pully does not rotate. If you connect the end metal piece up to the top attachment point, then it is 8:1 because the bottom pulley will then rotate. Note: this is the same logic for the 6-pully version. I used mine to lift my PK4400 paddle boat pontoons up so I could put a roller cart under each pontoon to roll the thing into my garage. The PK4400 is 340 lbs. I used an 8 ft step ladder set between the pontoons and each of the yellow straps around each pontoon and to the bottom pully hook. The boat front lifted easily. I looped the pull rope from the attach point down toward the ground and up to my right hand while I stepped onto the loop causing the pulleys to raise the boat a few inches with each repeated loop step while holding the pull rope as a brake with my left hand I raised it about 15 inches. Worked great. Repeated for each boat end. This is the first year I could do this alone without the help of my 5 busy sons. I am 70 and it was the most fun I have had in a long time. The pull rope was plenty long at 65 ft to raise almost anything up several feet as long as you weigh enough to pull the 8:1 weight. Lifting 340 lbs at one end of the boat setting flat on the ground starts at 1/2 the total weight or 170 lbs. It decreases as the angle to the ground increases until 0 lbs at vertical with the end still on the ground. So, I was easily able to raise 170 lbs 15 inches with no apparent damage to the pully system, my ladder, or to my foot. My back didn't feel a thing! At 8:1 it was a pull of 21.25 lbs each time.

Handles The Loads, But Tangles Easily
The media could not be loaded. I purchased this XSTRAP STANDARD Heavy-Duty Rope Hoist as a Christmas treat for my wife. She need an easy way to clip our dog's nails and handle other grooming functions. As seen in the video, I installed a rod as the hanging hook, which enables easy forward and back locating of the hoist. Used the two timber extensions to keep from drilling large hole in the basement floor joist. Hooks up the hoist went quick and easy.Pros.1) Make's lifting the dog an easy task for my wife to handle alone.2) A quality product for the size, uses, and cost.3) Easy install once I set up my hoisting station.4) Plenty of excess rope. ( I cut to length and stored the excess for future replacements)5) Works well once balanced out with weights.A few problems along the way included:1) Unless weighted, the hoist wouldn't descent on its own and tangled when used empty.2) In order to keep it hanging high until ready for use, I had to add a hook for the pull rope. That forced the need for a greater weight on the hook end.3) It's going to take a bit more fine adjusting to keep the dog facing the desired direction. I correct that by switching to a bearing hook system.Since our pup weighs in at 60#, I can't make any statements concerning the 2,000 lb breaking strength of the 50' rope. I can say it handles great for our needs.

Easy , preassembled
I used 2 to remove and stow away my truck topper/shell. Worked perfectly. I highly recommend and will likely buy more for other projects.

Poleas robustas
Poleas robustas y del tamaño esperado.Solo la cuerda se enrosca cuando se opera con poca carga, se requiere otro tipo de cuerda para evitar ese problema.

Not suitable for heavier loads
Despite the listed breaking strength and apparent mechanical advantage of having 6 pulleys in 2 blocks, it's not well suited for lifting heavier loads.I tried to raise 120lb load and it wasn't happening. 1) the rope has quite a bit of stretch to it 2) due to the sheeves you've got to haul up a lot of rope to move any distance 3) there's no braking or even a cleat included (and, in fairness, none is promised, but you will need them). Needless to say: after setting it up lifting a 120lb load vertically felt sketchy and would have entailed a lot of effort and swearing. The item does work and is decent quality other than the somewhat springy rope. I should have done some more research on mechanical advantage and operation of pulley systems (high school physics is a foggy memory). Another thing to remember is although it includes 50' of rope most of that is eaten up by the sheeves - hanging the load from an 8' ceiling only left about 10' of rope on the hauling end.May try again with a come-along or similar to gain braking and more power - let my lack of research be a lesson!
