Granulated Beef Flavor Bouillon, 7.9 Ounce

I like simple products to boost my cooking when I don’t have time or ingredients to cook fancy. Maggi granules are a wonderful flavor booster for when I’m looking to make a pot roast or braised short ribs or basically any slow cooked beef. Any slow roast or braise is going to wind up with a lot of the best flavor dripping out of the meat into the pan. If you pour out the drippings, separate the fat and reduce the rest you can get a nice pan gravy that adds the lost flavor back to the meat ad a sauce. Don’t use this stuff if you intend to do this. It has too much salt to reduce without turning your gravy into a salt bomb. HOWEVER, if you are looking for a quick tender beef roast out of an Instant Pot with some cut up carrots and potatoes, this stuff will give you back a lot of the flavor you’re losing by not making the gravy. I sprinkle it over the top of my roast in the cooker along with onion powder and poke 5 or 6 whole cloves in it, slap on the lid and get to pressure cooking. After about 50 minutes under pressure I dump in some vegetable chunks and bring it up to pressure for a couple more minutes, then turn it off and let it cool down naturally to release pressure. Nice flavor with minimal time. This will season steaks amazingly. Instead of salt alone, sprinkle this stuff on your steaks while they’re airing out before going on the grill. As with salt you don’t need a huge amount but don’t be stingy either. Your guests will love their steaks and you don’t have to tell them the secret.

Good alternative to cubes.

I think this might be moldy or spoiled. I didn't open it right away because I didn't need it right away. But it was in a cool dark place away from any heat in the seal wasn't unsealed but I opened it up and it looks like granulated mold I'm not sure if it's wrong or not but I used it last night for the first time and tasted ridiculously bad. I'm going to have to throw it out since my return window is way past but I have nearly an entire bottle of it I'm going to have to think of something else it just doesn't look right Doesn't even look brown like bullion at all. So my mistake for buying it. And my mistake for not using it sooner. It's not expired it's just not good.

not as flavorful as i was hoping

I love this brand. It has exceptional flavor and perfect for making soups or bases for meals. I would rather keep this around than boxes of broth!
