Used it to attach a rather large cargo box to the top of my Toyota Camry. Used ratchet straps to attach it all then, and worked wonderfully. If you don't have a roof rack system and don't want to spend the money on one just to only use it a few times, I absolutely recommend these. However if you are not going to use a roof rack mount, I do recommend you have some kind of a thin padding to keep from scratching the top of the car. Either weather stripping on bottom of car carrier or a rubber/foam pad to lay inbetween. Theyre easy to find on amazon. I used both for safety. Also these are very easy to carry around. Portability is great, Material feels and appears pretty solid for what it is.

Worked exactly as expected! I needed to take some old antique wooden ladders back home for some friends, but didn't want to drive my expensive diesel truck to do it. I bought these to use with my wife's Mazda CX50. We used swim noodles for padding and cinched the ladders down with good ratchet straps. It was a perfect and much less expensive option!

If there are no roof rails, make sure weather stripping can pull away easily. Our 2018 dodge 1500 -the metal door jam seam is easily accessible by pulling away the rubber door seal gasket. The gasket is easily replaced over metal hook after strap is installed and gasket goes right back in place when strap hook is removed. Our 2024 E-blazer door weather stripping does not pull away easily and I will not install straps here. We have just installed roof racks so may use straps with racks with convenient strap loop as needed. I had purchased straps to use with cord on rental car in Europe if needed for luggage on the roof. (Makes nice small packable kit) On two different makes it was difficult to move the door gasket. I did not use the straps. If these straps work on your vehicle it would be easy to attach number of options such as soft car top carrier Need to consider stress on the straps- not just weight but wind stress. Don’t know how much force it would take to bend door jamb seam. Looks like straps though are well made-sturdy.

Works great on my 2012 Accord

I bought these to secure a bag of clothes on top of my compact car (no roof rack), and they worked perfectly. I drove across the U.S. for over a week and everything stayed in place the entire time. Super easy to use and very sturdy, I’d 10/10 purchase again! And a great value for money too.

My canoe is super heavy, and these worked pretty well! I would like to see the clips wider, like they used to make them in the old days so you didn’t have to pull your weatherstripping down as much. But overall very good product.
