Mylec Pro Goalie Mask

Nice mask gives safety protection an covers well but straps aren't very sturdy 1 snapped as I was adjusting size

This mask fit amazing, worth every dollar. I have a pretty large head and fit me perfectly.

So i like the mask because it fulfilled it's purpose well. the padding will not protect you from a hockey puck. it will not stop your nose from getting broken if you get hit in the face with anything harder than a fist. breathing is fine while wearing the mask. you shouldn't wear it if you have long hair. if you have facial hair wearing the mask can get pretty itchy. visibility is fine if you are used to wearing a mask however your vision is cut about in half if not more. it isn't good for child size heads. you want it very snug when you're wearing it. if you mess with the top strap at the center of the mask it is difficult for it to be reattached so just leave it alone. the mask itself is durable and rigid but not so rigid as to make it shatter. the padding is thin foam almost like a craft foam. the buckles are plastic so be aware, it's not a bad thing it's just not impervious to damage. while wearing the mask your head will get very hot very fast. it is exactly what i expected for this item.

Well I was a little hopeful that this would work for roller hockey with a puck if I used a neck guard with it but after getting it, no luck. A shot to the face would hurt a lot, the foam doesn't hug your face like a real goalies helmet does and its really thin foam. Any shot on the lower half sends all the force directly to the front and center of your chin pushing it back instead of evenly on the head/face. I feel like a street hockey puck could break the plastic with a hard enough slap shot. For costing so little I can't be upset, just a little dream to have that style helmet in hockey. The protection in the back isn't complete either.Sidenote, it doesn't look quite as cool in real life as the picture. The forehead seems a little bigger on it.Conclusion, probably fine for ball hockey, can't use it with pucks. (I'd avoid any no bounce balls with water in them because of the added weight)If you open your mouth your lower chin will be exposed. Again for a ball whatever but puck, no way in hell. I guess I have to be Jason next year for Halloween.
