Daiwa Crossfire Spinning Reel with Spare Composite Spool

i originally gave this reel a good review... however, after six month's use (and care) in saltwater, this reel has seized...the frontpiece, removed with a single screw (to reveal the 3rd screw holding the side for opening to lube and maintain), has a connection that SNAPS OFF and is not replaceable!looks like some method to tell the factory that someone has tried to maintain the reel?anyhow, i ended up having to loosen the shaft collar nut underneath the spool (remove the spool - it's the large hexagonal brass nut) in order to 'un-seize' the reel...this shouldn't happen!we'll see how the rest of the reel holds up... it, like my other reels, is religiously rinsed off after use in saltwater, dried, and lubed...

I was looking for a small reel for ice fishing. This one fit the bill. It has a very smooth drag, takes up enough line per turn of the handle that it is easy to keep a tight line on most fish. This is a quality built reel very solid feel to it. I like the folding handle it makes travel and storage a breeze. It also comes with a spare spool made of aluminum. I would recommend this reel to everyone.

For a budget reel, it sure did its job well. My missus typically don't do hardcore fishing so I bought this just for her to have a little fun on the jetty or beach.

This reel is good and it came with a Spare Spool. I wish other reels came with one as well. I love to be able to get a deal such as this. There are many reels out there. You can't go wrong with the name on this ones. Have fun I know I have fishing with it.

I am very pleased with my Crossfire 1000 Spinning Reel. It is just what I needed. It is very easy to use. i love the way itretrieves the line.also very easy to cast.I purchase most of my fishing gear from Amazon

Although it is better than the combo reel it replaced, its not up to the standard you'd expect from Daiwa.

This reel is well-built and rugged. I have one and purchased another for my son. The extra composite spool is a plus for swapping line sizes.
