So worth it
My little fuzzball of a cat has had fleas for going on 3 months. I had tried everything including the normal treatment and my previous electric flea comb. The trouble with that one was that there was about a centimetre gap between the plastic teeth and the metal conductor prongs. This meant that you would often miss small fleas and it would only really get them if you brushed at a certain angle. In desperation, I decided to give this comb a go. Yes, it's expensive but honestly its worth the price. It's well made and as it doesn't have the flaw my other comb did. This one not only zaps the fleas it also combs out flea dirt from you fuzzy companions coat. It features retractable teeth to help you clean out any flea dirt or fleas that you may find (it also comes with a handy little brush to help as well). The teeth also have caps on the tops so you won't scratch your pet's skin. This comb does make a high pitched screeching, buzz noise when in use (it's difficult to describe). This is something I was almost certain would scare my cat, but oddly enough she is fine with it. In fact, she loves the comb which is surprising as she hates all brushes or combs. This comb is very safe, you can touch the teeth even when it's on without worry as touching it breaks the connection and the buzzing noise stops. This is a fantastic feature because it means you won't end up accidentally shocking yourself or kitty. Honestly, it's the best flea comb I have ever found and I will continue to brush my cat with it till all the fleas are gone (so far there are a few stragglers left). When used along flea medicine I am almost certain that it will rid her of her fleas.

Works well and kind to animals
Great little device which zaps the little biting bugs as long as you can get to them. My dog's coat is quite dense in places so it doesn't reach these parts so well but is one hundred percent deadly when you catch the fleas on the belly or back. Great substitute for nasty chemicals.

Only works for a few times. Waste of money.
I bought this in October last year because I thought my cat got fleas. I used it a couple of times I didn’t find anything. So I put it away and got it out yesterday because I was sure now that he had cut fleas as I had found flea dirt on its bedding . He is a short head Cat and I brushed him first and use this comb it does not work. It buses when the calm is up but not when the comb is down and that is when it’s is needed. Unfortunately, I can’t return it so it is an awful lot of money for absolutely nothing. I do not Recommend it and I urge you not to buy it.

Works great but not very robust.
This is a very effective tool for my short haired dog although it stopped zapping after the third use. I returned it and after reading the reviews and found the problem was very very common, I bought a second one and treated it as delicate. I found that this second one had the same issue but if I avoided the cleaning function (as this seems to negatively affect the 'contacts' inside that carry the charge) and instead slightly opened the back slot, the charge works continuously. Its really annoying but the tool is so effective I persevere with this quirk. To clean I just just the little brush instead. I hope they develop a much more robust model because it really is a good product otherwise. And its very satisfying zapping the little so and so's.

Epilady Flea Zapper electronic flea comb
I have 4 dogs, they have fleas! I’m trying to eradicate the fleas without chemicals, at least one of my dogs is always violently ill after being given oral flea prevention from the vet making it not only dangerous but useless, and previous bad experiences with the kind you put between their shoulders puts me off using that. So I tried to find viable alternatives. I’ve been giving the dogs a natural herbal food supplement daily for a year, it was supposed to prevent fleas - it’s been highly recommended by people who have yet acquired a few extra little pets yet! I’ve been steered towards some natural shampoo that is claimed to kill any parasite going, on pets, people and the home. I found the daily (3 times a day the company advised me) shampooing routine impossible to carry out on 4 dogs with my current family issues, they then told me just to use the spray oil 3 times a day, and put down salt or bi carb to dry the flea eggs out and vacuum daily, even that was proving hard and the dogs hate the spray oil, even if I don’t spray it. I looked for flea combs, found electronic ones, read lots of reviews which said the teeth were too wide ( they all looked too similar as well, suggested cheap imports). The Epilady one appealed because it’s a known brand, had close teeth and a year warranty. The dogs were all combed through before each use as two are poodle crosses and two are long haired. Two of them didn’t like the high pitched constant buzzing, one still runs, but they don’t mind it combing them and three of them seem to totally relax and enjoy it. When the comb encounters something you can see a spark, I’ve seen blue, green, yellow and the occasional red spark, and sometimes a big flash and a scorching smell indicates a flea has been vaporised. Sometimes during combing the dog has a veritable light show happening! Is it working? Well the dogs are still itching and we still see sparks every time. Today I’ve combed each dog twice, bathed one of them too. I’ll report back if they seem to be gone entirely. The comb is retractable, and when it isn’t buzzing it’s stopped working and needs retracting to clean, and if that doesn’t work it needs brushing with the supplied brush. Failing that the cover can be removed for further cleaning. It takes two AA batteries not supplied, the triangle part of the handle comes off to insert them. The most annoying thing is the design of this, there is a small button on the underside of the handle that releases the battery cover, if touched during use it flies off and the comb stops- usually every few minutes. The teeth of the comb - one bent on the second use. After a couple of weeks of use, not even combing all dogs every day, I stepped up use to every dog every day and noticed a tooth was missing. A day later and two were missing. I’m sending it back for a refund and I’ve ordered another. This was not a cheap item at £24 and I expected it to be better. I still think it’s the best of the rest. I don’t know if you can buy replacement combs, that would be good if the second one lasts long enough. Maybe I’ll be able to up the rating. Comb number 2 is much better, the annoying battery cover doesn’t pop off all the time on this one, it’s happened a couple of times only. No teeth have broken so far although there are a few slightly bent out of line. The instructions say don’t use if any are bent but it seems to happen fairly soon with long haired and curly haired dogs. I’m still on the same two batteries that I put in the first comb 3 or 4 weeks ago and I use the comb at least once a day on one dog, sometimes all 4. If they scratch I comb them. I’ve no idea if I’m winning the flea war yet, they seem to still have them. I try to comb all 4 daily and extra combing if they scratch as well as hot washing their beds, my bedding, daily vacuuming and spraying with the natural stuff I bought, even shampooing the carpets once with it and steaming them. I still don’t know where to get replacement combs from, and it would be good to know.

Traps and zaps
Worth getting especially if your cat as got loads of fleas,Not only is it a good comb it definitely stuns the fleas if it doesn't always kill it, Once you locate a flea or a number of fleas it swoops them up easily, Some people talk about build quality but it quite adequate,In the last week I must have caught over 100 fleas the FleabZapper as been a God send, A month later this comb has saved my cats life,It's not been easy and Bear hated it some days. But it really as done the job, You must keep the comb clean of any debrie, You must be able to hear high pitch whine to ensure it is actually working. You will even have to take it apart to ensure it is 100 % clean occasionally, Having read some of the reviews I was a little sceptical to buy, But haveing spent so much time and effort and realising the most important thing is even one flea at a time which can very tedious sometimes. But then sometimes you can catch four or five on one attempt,This is a inquinious little device if used correctly, practice makes perfect,I'm talking now over 200 fleas caught 😲😉

Disappointed
For me this item is a complete waste of money and may be returning it if its not too late. Both my terriers had fleas following a visit to a dog groomers! I tried many products without success to rid them of the fleas. Ordered this after reading such good reviews. Its plastic and flimsy and definitely does not kill fleas. It buzzed and stopped once. Excitedly I thought bingo must have caught one but no .... when I looked it hadn't. Much more effective was a simple flea comb which I used every day and caught what seemed to be an endless number of fleas. I either dipped the comb into a bowl of flea shampoo in between each sweep or used it with a flea wet wipe which instantly killed the fleas but allowed me to see what if anything I had caught. Less distressing for dogs as noiseless and so easy to use removing all flea dirt at same time. Sorry to give bad review. I really wanted it to work but it didn't. I didn't like flimsy plastic on/off button and casing and high pitched buzz either.

Totally brilliant, worth the money!
This is a brilliant tool, it goes through tough wirey hair as well as thick smooth hair, it has an audible buzz like sound, that stops once you hit a flea, much like the electric fly swats it doesn’t always kill the flea, especially the big ones but it stuns them so they are immobile and can be easily remove or squashed against the prongs, I have a very nervous dog and cats and I’ve used it on both, and they sit quite happily while I comb them, it’s really easy to clean and comes with a brush to clean in between the tines, and the whole comb head can be removed for a thorough clean when necessary. As for the problem of hitting the battery compartment button and the cover shooting off, I haven’t had a problem with it, I suppose it depends on how you hold it, I hold it over the top so my fingers are either side of it, so my fingers are nowhere near the button. I highly recommend this product, it’s quick and easy to use, is environmentally friendly, and very efficient.

Fonctionne!!!

Save your money
Whisper quiet it is not. It has an ear piercing ringing noise that my cats are scared of. The battery cover also keeps coming off because the button to remove it is on the handle & the handle is obviously where your hand goes… poor design.. Advance flea control is a much more effective product & cheaper.. Although the Epilady zapper is almost half the price here on Amazon compared to stores/shops. Thankfully I didn’t waste as much money as I could have…

Funktioniert
Funktioniert einwandfrei! Klappt hervorragend!

Didn’t suit me needs
My cats come home with many fleas so when the machine catches one flea, it stops working. It takes a long time to comb my cats and they eventually get bored and walk away. One of them is terrified of the high pitched noise it makes all the time. If you have the odd flea and a cat that is happy to lie around waiting then it’ll work for you!

Product is Fragile--But works good for short fine haired pets
When i first got this comb it worked great , zapped the fleas you could see the sparks , the first time i had to remove the plastic cover to clean the comb i had issues with it. It would not sound off when fully extended , i had to play with it by moving the slider back and forth to keep the connection. It zapped for a while like that then it just stopped zapping the sound still goes off now with the comb fully extended but its not zapping any more. The comb is perfect for soft-fine haired pets but the comb teeth will bend easy. Once you bend the teeth on the comb it stops working. I tried to get in contact with EpiLady support the manual said if these types of problems happen replace the comb but i still have not heard back from EpiLady as of yet. I think the product is perfect for my pet , I ordered another but this time i will treat it fragile and hope it lasts longer than the last one. Also if i get word on replacement combs i will post it. I have purchased all of the top flea zappers on the market right now and this one works the best.
