Soldering Kit with Easy-to-Change tips and convenient zip top tip-storage pouch
I got this to replace a set that I'd had for a long time that finally just started to wear out. When this arrived, it was neatly packed into a box and the very first thing that caught my eye was the resealable plastic pouch for the tips. My previous set did NOT have this and without it, your tips end up all over your work space because they roll no matter what you set them down on. So that's the first star for this set. The second star is that the base that it can be set on is not high. When the base and the accompanying wire on which you rest the soldering iron, is high, you have more of a tendency to bump into it. I've gotten a couple of nice burns on the side of my hand from this in the past, so I was pleased to see that this one rests the Soldering iron near to the surface.Color me happy to see that the tips change so easily. Unscrew the top, remove the current tip, place the new one, and put the top back on and tighten it up. And last, but certainly not least, the tips themselves are in shapes that are handy and usable around the house. The one I have taken a picture of is a wide tip, wider than in my last set, and I was so glad to see it. It saves me buying another tip as this is the tip I use most often.I've used some form of soldering iron in my home for the last 20 years. I use them on wire dress forms, wire jewelry, jewelry and watch repairs, doll house items, doll house electrical, and just general repairs that only a solder can hold. I'm impressed with this set and am very pleased I chose this set to purchase.

Awesome Soldering Iron
Great soldering tool kit, for beginners or amateur or professionals. In the pictures below it show everything that comes with it period. The shipping was fast and customer service was excellent. Its is a very straight forward soldering tool you've get your 5 tips, Desoldering pump, Soldering Iron , Soldering Iron Stand, Tin Wire Tube. You've get your temperature dial ranges from 200 to 450C, also you have a red led light once you plug it in.When I tried it it was outstanding I do have other soldering kit but this was worked much better for the price. In the pictures below the video shows me soldering 2 peaces of wires together a 22 gauge wire.I recommend 100% for a beginner its an excellent product and 12 month warranty, Life-time Technical Support.

Forget about tapping into wires. Soldering is the way to go!!!
I've just started DIY projects on my car like adding LEDS and such and have been using t taps and butt connectors instead of soldering. But after having read through so many people saying that soldering is the way to go and is the best way to make a connection. i decided to get myself a soldering iron. i'm not a pro or anything. i just know that you need a solder gun to heat up the wire and melt it onto the wires you need to connect with.Function:- it does what it does. i didn't have a problem using this solder at all to melt the wires to the connectors. it's not portable though. so if you gonna do car work like me, get yourself an inverter.- temperature control. there's a knob on this thing to set the temp you want to solder at. no use using the highest temp if you don't need to. especially if working on sensitive things like circuit boards or whatever.Extras:- comes with a desolder gun. this thing is amazing!!! how did someone even come up with this? i used the copper wire before to remove solder. but this thing is quick and easy at removing blobs of solder!!! i had to watch a youtube vid to find out how to use this.- the extra heads are a nice- tin wire. having a bit of tin wire to get you started is pretty nice. it even comes in a see through bottle with a hole in it so that you can thread it through. pretty convenient.Final Thoughts:Works and gets the job done. i'd recommend it.

Better than the run of the mill basic irons
I have always used regular basic soldering irons that take 10-15 minutes to get up to temp. It a pleasure that this does it within 2 or less. Build quality is good. Solder sucker has good strong spring. Iron rest is meh but works. Recommend something safer. Tips can be easily replaced with extras provided or others in similar category. Nice length beefy power cord and plug. Dial adjustment turns smoothly. Good balance in hands. I can't measure the temperature, but it does melt the solder I use quickly at the lowest setting. Good and basic set. No case isn't a deal breaker.EDIT: Total items in product purchased comes with Soldering iron, solder sucker, mini iron rest, sponge, 5pc tips, and solder tube ONLY. No other items were in set. Disregard if review is linked to other set.

Perfect for amateurs and small jobs.
I only use soldering irons to make small repairs, anything big is out of my league. This kit was perfect for the small jobs I had around that house that I kept planning on getting to once I got a kit. It had everything I needed, and wasn't overwhelming in terms of parts available. It has a light to let you know it is on, which is helpful if you get distracted as I tend too. The choice of temperatures is handy, just make sure that you do not leave it unattended as it doesn't have an automatic shut off,

Lack of replacement tips makes the iron useless
It’s a great working iron. Does what it advertises. I would rate it 5 stars for the way it works but I only give it zero stars for the ability to buy replacement tips. There are none. It came with 5 tips. The one I used most frequently is about gone. The next two ones that I used are about 60% gone. One doesn’t heat up to where it works. One is a cutter blade that I found useless. The temperature control and different tips make it a great tool - until the tips are gone and you have to toss it in the trash and buy another. I’m at that point and won’t buy this one again.

great, so much better than a "regular" soldering iron!
I've been using cheap soldering irons all my life! This thing rocks! It will get glowing hot if you crank it up, (yup, a slight red glow visible in a dark room) which I'm not sure I need but I'd imagine that's why it comes to temperature much faster than my old irons.Having different tips is useful. The temperature dial is obviously useful. Haven't tested accuracy but it definitely makes a difference.I've only done a little work with it, a few PCB connections, a few larger wires but already I really really like it.
