Perfect for what I need
For what I ordered this for, it works exactly like I need it to. I cut it up to fit in the bottom of my ammo cans. That way if any moisture gets in the cans, it gets absorbed by the foam and eventually soaks through to the bottom leaving the ammo dry. I also throw in a half dozen silicone packets. It's the right thickness and density for what I need and works great.

Expanded more or less to the expected depth, millable with the right bit and process
I guess some of the other customers got unlucky? All 8 of my foam sheets expanded evenly to a depth of 0.95", close enough to 1" be satisfied. For those that do not want to return their foam if it does not expand fully, I've heard you can steam most types of foam to restore their thickness if you want to try that. Just make sure you wring it out then dry it thoroughly or you may get mold issues.I like the density of this foam, it's pliable but firm enough to keep my tools where they should be in the grooves I CNC milled out of the foam using an up-cut foam bit. Ever so slightly denser would still be better though. The bottom of the pockets I milled have fairly nice square corners, so it doesn't seem like a compression bit would be needed unless milling more aggressively. The foam is quite soft for milling, so it takes some trial and error to get a CNC to cut it decently. I've found that gently compressing the foam a bit with a top piece of cardboard during milling, milling a contour before the pocket, not making too thin of walls, doing small step downs, and running the spindle fast improves success rate considerably. After refining my process, I can mill foam pockets almost as good as a factory could make pockets. It would still be better to laser through the foam completely, then glue the lasered foam onto an uncut sheet of foam to add the bottom in order to get flawless edges.

Very soft/compressible. Exactly as described.
Just as it says. But be sure to understand that these are extremely soft/compressible and not well-suited as packing material generally. More special-use.

Black micro fiber
Abit thin, but good for general purposes

Works great
This stuff bounces back after you use it pretty well. I use it for kydex sheath making. Works great. Matched the description perfectly, highly recommend.

Excellent quality, great price.
Was everything I had expected. Product is good quality and worked perfect for the custom sized pieces I needed for shipping delicate electronic equipment parts.

This is not 1" thick
Update: Up the rating to 3 stars for:1. Thickness is not 1" as described.2. Sturdiness is good once you let the foam soak in enough air.3. Probably due to tight packaging, 1 of the foam sheets cannot expand more than 0.6". 1of the foam sheets is 0.75" so there's a significant difference between the thickest and thinnest foam sheet.I saw one of the reviews and it said the delivered product was not 1" thick. I was hopeful it might be a mistake, that one time.It is not.

Cuts very well with laser cutter
The idea was to make a custom insert to carry the magazines for my 22 rifle. I go monthly to a competitive shoot and you need five magazines, but since I shoot in two categories, I need ten to avoid reloading. I designed the insert on my computer and selected the default laser setting to cut foam. It actually worked. The foam is just the right density for easy insertion and removal of the magazines. Very happy with the results.
