Where are these made?

Here’s the problem with things made in China, no matter what. In case you didn’t know, very recently it was revealed that nearly all the retail places that we Americans shop for dishes (Target, Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn, dept stores, etc) sell plates that appear to be boxed in their own brand name/s. Their dish sets, glassware, are almost ALL made in Chinese factories. (Some are made in the same factories.) These food wares, plates and glasses, from China ACTUALLY DO CONTAIN LEAD. They may seem to be “Target brands” or “Williams Sonoma”…They can write “lead-free” or whatever they want, and there is no way of knowing if that is true or not. Unfortunately, when the dishes and glasses were actually tested, MOST CONTAINED LEAD. Your most trusty brands are made in China, and most likely (as it has been proven) contain lead. (If certain retail stores have fixed the problem, in the last year or so, I don’t know. It seems the retailers thought it best to keep it all hush hush, which is why many consumers don’t know. They sure haven’t done any “rebranding” to prove they are lead-free. I don’t know if they even changed anything to make their wares healthier to eat off of. So, heads up!

Yes our weights are lead and cadmium free.  We have all of our products tested by a third party testing agency to ensure they meed all FDA standards.

Will they withstand boiling water?

Accepted Answer

Yes, I boil mine to sterilize then prior to starting a new ferment.  But I try to bring them up to a boil from room temperature;  I don't drop them directly into boiling water as the thermal stress would be hard on anything made of glass.
