"I might be evil personified, but you're the only one I'll ever be good to." August 1955, When Miss Darcy O'Sullivan, an orphaned English teacher from Boston, receives a letter that her biological father passed away, she is surprised to find herself included in his will. There is only one condition. She must travel to Fairydale to attend his funeral. With the promise of a sizable inheritance, Darcy decides to journey to the small coastal town that holds the secrets of her birth. But the moment she steps foot into Fairydale, things start to go amiss. Odd residents. Odd rumors. Odd...deaths. Everything about Fairydale is odd. Including brooding Caleb Hale-part of the infamous Hale family. During the day, she falls deeper and deeper under his spell as he forces her to step out of her comfort zone and embrace her inner sensuality. But at night it's another man who haunts her dreams-Amon d'Artan, a nobleman who lived two centuries ago. Amon is sweet and suave where Caleb is intense and dangerous, and Darcy feels more torn than ever. Soon, she finds herself embroiled in a web of lies, deceit, and inexplicable events that make her question her sanity. When an ancient evil threatens the town and everything Darcy holds dear, she must make the ultimate choice. But will she survive it? Review: Blew my mind! - ๐ฑ๐ฑ This book was absolutely amazing!! The plot twists, the deception, the amazing love story! The plot twists were twisting into their twists. I need more. I need more with Amon and Sela back where they were headed. Maโam you really nailed it with this book! Review: Loved the vibes - Overall this was a 4 stars. I apologize if this is a super rambley review, I just spewed out everything little thing that popped into my head about this book. There were moments that I loved and I was completely invested and then there were moments where I was pulled completely out of the story. I will say this book definitely felt like more of a vibe book. There are some people, some story lines, that are just left hanging. And I'll get into that a little later in the review. So going into this, I really liked the set up. The set up of this mysterious town, mysterious people, weird occurrences. Is it witches, ghosts, past life, vampires, time travel, what is happening? I loved it all. And all while she, Darcy, learns that her biological father has died and she now stands to inherit a little bit of his money. Then there is a man named Caleb that she is pulled to but there's also the man she's dreaming about Amon. All this I was on board with and I loved. Then the Elizabeth time line, another section that I was super invested in. At this point I kind of guessed what the main mystery was. Even the start of the Sela story line I was interested in. I wasn't loving this one as much though. It was my least favorite of the three time lines. Now here are some things that bugged me. They are spoiler-y, at least some of them are, so it'll all be behind the spoiler tag. SPOILERS * * * * * * * * * First off, the story line that got me into the story, bio dad dies, Darcy has to stay in town for a certain amount of time to get the money, etc. It's dropped for the most part at around 150 pages. There are 3 deaths of the people who hurt/harassed/bothered Darcy and after the initial cop interaction, it's not mentioned for 100-ish pages. These were big things and except for one or two small mentions it's completely dropped. We don't even see Vaughn and the Pierce family again, except for a brief mention near the very end where they were killed off page. We never hear about her friend that she roomed with from the school she use to teach at, again except for 1 or 2 phone calls at the beginning and then nothing for the rest of the book. There was one moment where Darcy is wanting to try her powers out and see if she can heal a dead/dying rat. So she grabs quite a few from the downstairs kitchen. She even mentions that some are poisoned. So after she's done with one rat she gives that poisoned rat to Mr. Meow, the cat that is connected to her. But it's poisoned. At that point she doesn't know what Mr. Meow is and whether he can survive poison rats if he eats them. Despite those things I have listed I was enjoying this book. It was still a solid 4.5 stars. Up until the...aliens? I think. Sela and Amon are from a different realm/planet. When they leave that realm/planet they come to ours to try and start a new life away from the people who want to kill them. This completely took me out. So much so that I stopped reading this for about 2 weeks. Then something that really bugged me, they've been together for a couple thousand years. They should know each other REALLLYYY well at this point. But Sela is still having thoughts that make it seem like she just recently met him. She would ask these questions in her head that she should know the answer to because she's been with him for 2,000 years! It bothered me a lot. There was a Buffy/Angelus fic I read (and loved) that had Buffy and Angelus together for a thousand years and how they knew everything about each other, what they would do in most situations, it was so well done and I was wanting something like that for Sela/Amon but it wasn't there during those moments. * * * * * * * End of spoilers However, despite those issues, the last 80-ish pages got me right back into the story and I loved how it ended. Overall I had a good time with this. I recommend if you do read it, go into it expecting vibes, don't get too hung up on the little details and plot points that end up going no where.

Infinity star read. A love that transcends time
Infinity stars. I am blown away by how incredible this book was. Fairydale will always have a permanent place in my heart. How do I even write a review that will properly express how Fairydale made me feel? Not only that, but it is hard to do so without spoiling the story and I truly believe you have to go in blind. I did, and I am so grateful for it. I think it made the experience that much more enjoyable. I had no idea what was going to happen next at any point, and I was continuously blown away. I was working overtime highlight probably at least half of this book easily. Veronica wrote a MAGICAL story. I can say with 100% confidence I will never read a book quite like this one again. This is truly a one-of-a-kind story. I read A LOT, and I have never read anything like this before. You know it's good when you can't stop telling people IRL how much you love the book you're currently reading and already order the physical copy before you even finish. I couldn't put it down. Every moment had me fully consumed. I felt every emotion so deeply. There were tears in my eyes from joy, sadness and most importantly the love these two have. Nothing, I repeat nothing, can hold a candle to what these two characters share. This is beyond anything you have ever seen, imagined or read. If you love a strong fmc, the MOST protective mmc that will burn the entire world to ashes, and a love so deep in transcends time, you have to read Fairydale. Everything that happens is strategic. There are so many plot twists and moments both big and small that have such importance. Sometimes you don't understand until later but trust me, everything comes together. I really love the messages Veronica wove into Fairydale. The acceptance these two have for each other of their truest self, especially the MMC, just warmed my heart. I literally felt like my heart was going to explode. I have never teared up from so much emotion whether it be good or bad in my life while reading a book I don't think. This story really was everything and more. You just need to experience it for yourself. The fact that this book is not talked about more is criminal and I will do everything I can to get people to experience this story because it so unique. Fairydale quite literally had every single trope and even microtropes that I LOVE in a romance. I was constantly amazed by what was happening. I didn't even care that this book was long because I was so invested and I could have kept reading more. When I finished, I didn't want it to be over. I want more of them, but I am so happy with their ending. I got more than I could have even hoped or imagined. These two go through so much pain and heartache that they deserved a happy ending so badly. It is safe to say this is now one of my top reads of the year and truly one of my favorite books ever. I just know I will be forever searching for books that have this vibe and make me feel like this did although I doubt I will find it. I just want to consume everything Veronica has ever written if it is even remotely like Fairydale. Her writing was magnificent. I immersive read this and the narrators, both the male and female, did an outstanding job. I highly recommend listening to it. Just do yourself a favor and take this as a sign to give Fairydale a chance and trust the process. Things don't make sense until later, but everything comes together so beautifully and there was so much meaning and depth to this story that I will never forget. This is one of those books I will accept zero criticism on. Absolute perfection. I will never forget these characters.

too long, too dirty, but good storytelling and fun
I like demon and horror fiction but not romance so much so I am getting my biases out of the way. first, the bad stuff: Sex is fine in a story, especially a romance one, but less is more, and it gets a little kinky and weird in places. I think there are too many sex scenes and while a lot of the are written well, it gets in the way of the fantastic story. another weak point: I think the story has too many folds and beats to make it as entertaining as it otherwise would be. you could take out about half the twists and components of the main plot and not really lose much literary value and could probably actually gain some. third in the bad column: none of the surprises in the story were surprises for me and when they are revealed I'm pretty much "of course that's the way it goes"and even things that wre supposed to be big revveals really aren't. fourth: the middle of the sotry kind of lags and in the three-act structure, acts 1 and 3 vastly overshadow chapter 2 which is a bit of a slog. fifth and final but a petty one: It tells the story in the present tense, which I personally hate. with all these problems I mentioned, you may wonder why I rated it as good as I did. The story and gothic fantasy and horror elements are really good. also, the male lead is not an abusive jerk like they often are in romance novels and that is something I always want to reward. Additionally beyond the romantic angle that this story sell sitself on, the story is good even in just the intrigue and backstabbing portions which are my bread and butter for a good book. This is also a story with a witch angle that does it well, which is not something I can sayfor most witch-adjacent stories so overall, a decent book that has a bit too much sex and is a bit too long, also failing in many areas of foreshadowing, but an okay read, not particularly good or bad and a definite read you will enjoy, though you will probably find it flawed.

HOLY YES- a bit mind blowing
I absolutely recommend getting the physical copy of this book and reading it! For the first 200 pages, I was literally like what the heck is going on- In between putting the book down this book haunted my dreams it consumed my thoughts! It definitely is a story that will imprint itself on you! I very much enjoyed the journey it takes you on. Itโs a bit of a mind-boggling book and totally worth reading. Would absolutely recommend! I had a couple of ink stains in the book, but it still was readable. Act three wasnโt as good as act too however, the whole wild journey of the book is quite amazing and I 100% recommend reading it - I will not be putting any spoilers in this comment!- but the book made me swoony towards the characters. Veronica Lancet out did it with the journey you are taken on in this book!

4.5!! excellent read!
I found myself at the edge of my seat several times and when I thought I had it figured out there was always a little bit of a twist to throw me off. The author does a wonderful job of world building layering the story that I stayed up till 4 am reading this before I finally told myself to put the book down and sleep. I am not a fan of time jumps whether they be memory or magic, but Veronica Lancet executed it rather well and I enjoyed trying to figure out the mystery of Amon & Caleb. The spicy was sooooo good. Oof. I gave it 4 stars because I felt that the ending was rather rushed compared to the rest of the story and left unsatisfied for me. Overall a great read tho.

A new all time fave!!
THIS WAS PHENOMENAL! Immediately adding it to my favorites! Itโs dark, atmospheric, incredibly romantic, UNIQUE as heck, strange & filled with mystery. Iโm beyond obsessed with how layered this plot is with the three timelines over centuries and a sweeping, romantic love that is truly an โIโll love you in every lifetimeโ kinda love. But alsoโฆan absolutely wild ride as it takes you through a fever-dream like journey with reveal after reveal that has you turning pages and wondering what the heck is happening. But once the story clicks, itโs freaking unreal and impossible to put down. I think going in blind makes the experience even better because when you think you knowโฆit surprises you again. This one touched my soul and I will think about it forever๐ฅน

Whirlwind
The plot of the story was very dense, but to be fair, there was a disclaimer at the beginning (which I really appreciated). The opening immediately grabbed my interest, as a reader I felt like I was being thrown straight into a murder mystery. Within that mystery there were elements of magic and supernatural. This made it confusing at times and hard to figure out where each character fit and how important they were. Around the 30% mark, the story became a bit of cluster f***, jumping between past and present. Iโll got a bit confused during that, but once things started to clarify, I found myself drawn back in. I had a feeling that the MMC would turn out to be Caleb, but I definitely wasnโt expecting how that reveal would happen. I really enjoyed learning about the FMCโhow she came to be and the role she plays throughout the book. Her storyline was a major part of the story in a satisfying way but fell a bit flat towards the end. While it wasnโt an overly spicy book, there were definitely some steamy scenesโespecially toward the end. Letโs just say all the orifices got their moment (IYKYK). I also appreciated the emphasis on familial ties. Those relationships played a key role in helping both the FMC and MMC and added emotional weight to the story as it unfolded. The ending felt a bit rushed and convenient. After over 600 pages of turmoil, the resolution came together almost too quickly and too neatly. I did enjoy the read overall, but I occasionally got caught up (or lost) in the back-and-forth timelines and tangled plotlines. Still, the supernatural elements were a highlight and kept me intrigued.

This is a rating for the content of the book, not the condition of the book
The blurb that was shown was just the tip of the iceberg ๐ง. At first this will seem like a normal inheritance book where she will meet her love of her life but NO! It is more than that! This book has the best plot twist ever! I have been searching for a book to be obsessed with for so many years. BUT I FINALLY FOUND THE ONE!!!!! Darcy goes to a town called Fairydale. I love the name itself! The town has the perfect vibe I could ask for, small? check, cozy but chilling? check, less amount of people? check, has a castle that upon looking gives goosebump but fascinating? check. These are all subjective, that's how I imagined the town. And I LOVED IT!! I was freaking immersed in the world, it was addicting, when you read it will feel very modern and contemporary but that is just the beginning. Darcy getting an invite to Fairydale was just a bait to make her go there. Writing a review for this book is so hard because I feel like I will spoil it. Because you should read this book without knowing anything, that is the best way!!! I just wish the book never ended, it was not enough. I want to read more about him. The way he talks is oof ๐โจ Here's some of the things he said - ๐ "You called for me" "Your soul called for me. So make your wish. What is it you want, ****** mine" "How could I want anyone else when I am only because you are? I exist for you just as I exist because of you. He was so so obsessed and whipped for her, that he even waited for her for very long time. He took so many risks and his eyes was only set on her from the very beginning. He was not only flirting with her but also with me, she was falling for him and me too. The fact that he is not real is making me cry. I can read this book over and over again and I will never get tired of it. This book which is more than normal length of books and its still not enough for me! The writing style is beyond amazing, easy but magnificant. Veronica did this so beautifully, the setting, the vibes, the feelings, the chemistry between the characters, the romance, the plot. Veronica delivered this beautifully! This is not a normal love story which you are familiar with, this is a love story which defies war, society's disapproval, deaths . . . This the love story which will show you what destiny or fate is, what true love really means, what loving a person means, he is the prime example of if he wanted to he would . . . He respects her, he trusts her, values her opinion, this is a bare minimum, right? but it doesn't hurt to appreciate it. The way he loves her is . . . .๐ *takes a long breath* He communicates and always explains if anything goes wrong, he never leaves the room for her to misunderstand him. You will never doubt his love for her, he always expresses what he thinks. He will loose his mind if something happens to her. She trust him so much, that she went against her mother, family, society, there are many more but I wanted to write spoiler free review as I said you should read this book without knowing anything โค This is an EPIC LOVE STORY.

This book is a drug and I'm addicted
I cried, I laughed, I giggled like a giddy pre-teen reading a fan fiction for the first time. This story is perfection. UGHH the twists kept me UP at night thinking of the answers. I'm addicted and I need more. I read so slow, like one book a year. I finished this behemoth in a few days and cried just because it was over.
