No Prayer for the Dying [LP]

This album is without adrian smith, and for me its not their best as others. However as maiden fans we need all albums. Product 180g vinyl sounds food

I've been waiting forever for Iron Maiden to re-release their entire catalogue on vinyl and there you have it. No Prayer for the Dying is by far not one of my favorite Iron Maiden records, but I'm giving it a 5 star for the sole reason because it is nevertheless a unique and indispensable album from Maiden's entire discography. It is unique in its raw and unpolished sound, with shredding licks and heavy riffs that dominate the entire album with Dickinson's soaring vocals. The re-release and remastered version of this album sounds great. Highly recommended for Maiden fans to swap one of these before they run out. And yes, Maiden is notorious for not making their physical formats as readily available as those of other bands. Who knows when's the next time of their re-releases.

I saw this show (PIT) in LA. It was fantastic and so high energy. Bruce hit all the marks and his performance was spot on. Adrian and Dave and Janick took turns wowing us and Steve is Steve. Machine gun bassist. Nicko could not be a more perfect drummer. From Churchill's speech then Aces to the walk out music: "Always look on the bright side of life" this was the PERFECT show. Captured perfectly. So I'm walking down the street listening to this album and wearing the concert t-shirt from that show. And I get to relive that experience over and over. The spitfire was RIGHT over my head at the show and the demon is gigantic.

First, thanks to the band for giving us this unexpected live album to fill the down time in 2020; I wish I'd seen the tour. The set-list is tremendous: the classic cuts Maiden fans expect and some others I've never heard live before. I love the "live-feel "and the packaging- they continue to top themselves. Yes the production isn't as good as the past nor is Bruce's voice. We're not in our 20s anymore, but those shortcomings don't matter to true Maiden fans and don't degrade this CD set to any less than 5 stars. Up the Irons! Hope the band continues for years to come.

few things to say before we start Alot of maiden fans say this this is probably one maidens worst albums i strongly disagree i believe the only bad album maiden ever did were virtual xi because of at the time maiden cared more about playing soccer than making music and blaze bayley wasnt that good of a singer but this album is fantastic its really raw and gritty especially since bruce decided to do a different type of singing witch i like to call his pitbull voice since its very aggressive like a pitbull witch alot of people dont like i personally love it plus adrian smith one of my all time favorite guitarists (is there a plural for guitarist) left maiden to do asap and was replaced with the very underrated janick gers witch maiden fans just love to rip him to pieces janick is a good guitarist but not nearly as good as adrian but hes not horrible like everyone says he is sure his solos arnt as good as dave or adrians but its hard to make solos like and that when they play live he runs around on stage like a hes got a propeller up his ass hes very entertaining to see live with maiden also janick is a pretty talented song writer witch ill explain about in my fear of the dark review Tail gunner: its a good song but the intro to this song reminds me an awefull lot of the clairvoyant for some reason not that its a bad thing the clairvoyant is a great song 7/10 Holy smoke: this song has got the most hilarious music video ive have ever seen it makes me burst out laughing every time i see it 10/10 for the video but song itself is kinda lame 5/10 No prayer for the dying: this one of the highlights of the album for me because it interprets the direction that maiden was taking in the 90's wich wer dark times for maiden especially when bruce left thank god hes back 9/10 public enema number one: i cant really say anything on this one because my cd is pretty beat up and wont play this song ???/10 fates warning: its a pretty upbeat tune and i like it 7/10 the assassin: i love this song its got a very creapy vibe to it and has fantastic guitar work 9/10 run silent run deep: this is my favorite song from the album its based of the movie of the same name whenever i hear it i always picture myself being on a nuclear submarine with eddie as my commander 9/10 hooks in you: this song is very very catchy its my second favorite from the Charlot saga with my first being charlot the harlot 8/10 bring your daughter to the slaughter: i personally dont care for this one much its the most overrated track on the album 7/10 mother russia: my cd is beaten ups so it wont play it witch really sucks because this is a good song 8/10 no prayer for the dying is a great album but its not an album you will like right away you have to let it grow on you over time and i have a question about the albums artwork they had to change it because the original had eddie strangling a fat guy from his cryp to eddie just reaching out of the crypt idont like that they changed it eddie looks like some tiki freak in the new one the old one was way better but i guess they had to change it because it was to violent but they would let eddie chop off the devils head but they wont let him strangle a fat guy pfft

Maiden es mi banda favorita de Heavy Metal y por supuesto el album No prayer muestra mucho de lo que es la banda con la bella voz de Bruce Dickinson, ademas de que esta version remasterizada en edicion de 180 gramos da un aporte de calidad a este disco. Muy recomendado para amantes de la banda y del heavy en general.

This is a so-so album and not like before from the other classic albums. But I do wish that Iron Maiden got back to doing single albums and not very long albums that come out of 80 minutes or so. Stick to the albums of the 80s formula.

No Prayer For The Dying Nach dem monumentalen Konzeptalbum „Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son“ standen Iron Maiden sowohl bei Fans, als auch bei Kritikern sehr unter Druck. Die Engländer haben bekanntlich mit „Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son“ ein Epos erschaffen, das vor allem mit düsterer Atmosphäre und zeitlosen Klassikern punkten konnte, wie etwa "Moonchild", "Infinite Dreams", der Titelsong und "Can I Play With Madness". Zu all dem Druck einen grandiosen Nachfolger zu veröffentlichen kam noch der Ausstieg von Gitarrist Adrian Smith hinzu. Ersetzt wurde er durch Jannik Gers. Iron Maiden gingen ins (mobile) Studio mit der Absicht die Songs nicht mehr so bombastisch und monumental erscheinen zu lassen, wie es bisher der Fall war. In den Augen der meisten Fans und Kritiker ein großer Fehler. Ich habe vor dem Kauf viele Rezensionen und Reviews zu diesem Album gelesen und erwartete Schlimmes. Ich war sogar am zögern, ob ich mir No Prayer For The Dying oder The Final Frontier kaufen sollte. Ich entschied mich für ersteres, was sich als goldrichtig herausstellte. No Prayer For The Dying wird oft als das schlechteste Maiden-Album (mit Dickinson am Mikrophon) gehandelt. Aber warum? No Prayer For The Dying hat alles was man sich von einem Maiden-Album erhofft. Es kombiniert die Stärken der bis dahin erschienenen Alben; die raue Energie von „Killers“, starke Vocals wie auf „Somewhere In Time, den Keyboardeinsatz von „Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son“ und die Eingängigkeit von „The Number Of The Beast“. Es ist halt nicht mehr soooo episch, wie die Vorgänger. Na und? Das Album kann viele Hits aufweisen, wie etwa den Opener "Tail Gunner", der ersten Single "Holy Smoke", dem Hit "Bring Your Daughter…To The Slaughter", aber auch das Mini-Epos "Mother Russia". Auch mangelt es nicht an frischen Ideen und starken Ohrwürmern. Fast jeder Song brennt sich dauerhaft in die Gehörgänge ein und das schon nach dem ersten Durchgang. Stark! Die Produktion kommt sehr erdig aus den Boxen und erinnert mich an die früheren Werke der Band. Dieses Album ist für mich das „Killers“ mit Bruce Dickinson. Wie man sieht, lobe ich dieses Album fast schon in den Himmel, aber es hat dennoch einige Schwächen. Zum einen wäre da der Refrain von The Assassin; dieses „Better watch out!“ nervt ziemlich, obwohl der Song sonst sehr stark ist. Zum anderen wäre da die Länge des Albums. Mich stört es nicht, dass Maiden sich entschieden haben keine Songs mehr zu schreiben, die länger als 6 Minuten sind. Good music is good music. Dennoch ist eine Spielzeit von 44 Minuten und einer Songanzahl von 10 Songs zu wenig. Das wäre aber auch schon alles an Negativem. Die einzelnen Songs: 1. Tail Gunner Geiler Opener! Für mich einer der besten Opener, die Maiden aufzuweisen haben und kann sich problemlos mit Moonchild, Sign Of The Cross und Aces High messen. Besonders der Refrain ist ziemlich cool. Einer meiner Favoriten auf dem Album! 10/10 2. Holy Smoke Die erste Single des Albums und einer der eingängisten Songs des Albums. Ein klasse Song, der vor allem durch Bruce Dickinson’s Gesang begeistert. Bruce’s Gesangsleistung generell auf diesem Album ist grandios! 9/10 3. No Prayer For The Dying Der Titeltrack und was für einer! Leider auf Grund seiner Kürze gehasst, aber ich finde, dass er durch tolle Stimm- und Gitarrenmelodien gefällt und ist einer der emotionalsten Maiden-Songs. Ganz großes Kino, das nicht weniger als die Höchstnote verdient! 10/10 4. Public Enema Number One Cooler Titel, sehr eingängig, aber dennoch einer der schwächeren Songs des Albums. Nichtsdestotrotz ein gutes Lied, das es wert ist gehört zu werden und durch das Riffing der Herren Gers und Murray, aber auch durch die Basslines von Harris überzeugt. 7,5/10 5. Fates Warning Das gleiche wie bei Song Number 4, aber dieser hier ist ein wenig besser. Besonders der Refrain weiß zu gefallen und man erwischt sich selbst beim Mitsummen. Coole Nummer! 8/10 6. The Assassin Im Prinzip richtig geil, aber der Song verliert einiges an Qualität durch den Refrain. Dafür begeistern die Gitarrenmelodien, der Mittelteil und die Solos umso mehr. Tolle Vocals von Bruce! 8,5/10 7. Run Silent Run Deep Ruhiges Intro und ein sehr eingängiges Lied. Definitiv einer der besten Songs auf dem Album. Echt ein geiles Stück. Müsste Maiden mal wieder live spielen. Eine wahre Perle, die zu Unrecht verhasst ist. 9,5/10 8. Hooks In You Die Fortsetzung der Charlotte-The-Harlot-Trilogie (Charlotte The Harlot, 22 Acacia Avenue, Hooks In You) und ein echter Ohrwurm. Nicht unbedingt der originellste Song, den Maiden je veröffentlicht haben, aber dennoch unterbewertetes rotziges Stück Metal. 8,5/10 9. Bring Your Daughter…To The Slaughter Die zweite Single und erneut ein echter Ohrwurm. War zu Recht an der Spitze der britischen Single-Charts. Besonders der Refrain ist sehr originell und sau-cool. Zudem bestimmt ein ACDC-mäßiger Groove das Tempo und Riffing, was ungewohnt, aber nicht minder eindrucksvoll klingt. Klasse Song! 9,5/10 10. Mother Russia Das Epos, das eigentlich keines ist. Mit gerade einmal 5:30 Länge das kürzeste Epos in Maiden’s Diskographie, aber dennoch ein starker Song mit dramatischem Keyboard-Einsatz. Für mich der beste Song des Albums, der auch auf dem Vorgänger hätte stehen sollen. Ja ich gebe zu, dass der Song zu kurz ist. Beim Outro denke ich immer, dass da noch was kommt, wie etwa ein Solo etc. Trotzdem braucht sich Mother Russia vor einem Vergleich mit Hallowed Be Thy Name, Rime Of The Ancient Mariner und Phantom Of The Opera nicht fürchten und überzeugt auf ganzer Linie! Ein wahrer Klassiker, der mal live gespielt werden sollte! 11/10 Fazit: Definitiv ein geiles Album! Nicht so stark wie der Vorgänger, aber auf jeden Fall stärker als der Nachfolger. Verstehe nicht, warum es immer als das schlechteste Album von Iron Maiden gesehen wird. Hier wird Energie, Frische und Coolness großgeschrieben und nicht Epik, Dramatik und Länge, wie auf den Vorgängern, was damals frischen (und verhassten) Wind in das Maiden-Lager brachte. Für Maiden-Anfänger gibt es hier eine gute Übersicht über die Fähigkeiten Maiden’s, aber auch musikalisch offene Maiden-Fans werden Gefallen an diesem missverstandenen, verhassten Album finden. Klare Kaufempfehlung! Anspieltipps: Jeder Song des Albums ist es wert gehört zu werden, aber dies hier sind die Besten: Tail Gunner (!) Holy Smoke No Prayer For The Dying (!) Run Silent Run Deep Bring Your Daughter…To The Slaughter Mother Russia (!) UP THE IRONS!

Con la legión de fieles seguidores que tienen en México, ya era justo y hasta obligatorio que LA DONCELLA DE HIERRO grabara un directo en nuestro País. Ésta edición deluxe cumple con las espectativas de cualquier fan de IRON MAIDEN, sonido excelente, material y fotografias del box set de primera calidad, aunque son solo 17 canciones en 2 cds( pudieron ser mas) este concierto se disfruta de principio a fin haciendo sentir que estás ahí. Además tuve la fortuna de comprarlo a un precio mas bajo que en la preventa. Es imprescindible para la colección de cualquier fanático del buen Heavy Metal. Y como siempre, con AMAZON el paquete llegó antes del tiempo señalado y en perfectas condiciones...Enjoy the rock!!
