Believe me I did apply more than simple force to it. I just love this AboveTEK Portable Laptop Lap Desk!!! The height and width fit my Macbook and holds my mouse even on an angle (see pic). I am right-handed but love that the built in mousepad could adjust for a lefty too. I use it in my RV on a recliner that is wide but has a narrow armrest so I needed something just like this. It looks classy and takes up a very small footprint and would be great for traveling as well. Its well-made and very comfortable and keeps the heat of my legs.

I have bought this item 3 times in the last 6 years because I use the hell out of it. First of all, it is very lightweight and slim and keeps the heat on my laptop at bay. But one of the biggest things for me is this is the only functional and acceptable laptop desk that I can find that is ambidextrous. When looking for a laptop desk with a mouse pad, us left-handed people are extremely limited. This one works for both left-handed and right handed people. The first one I bought lasted me four years and the second one lasted me 2 years. What I mean by that is the mouse pad section peels off. I tried to glue it down a little bit, but it’s still continues to do that. For the price I believe even lasting for two years is worth it. I hope they never stop selling these, I find that happens when I find something like this that appeals to a smaller demographic.

[Build] This lap-pad is built sturdy. The quality feels nice especially around the rubber pads. [Size] Extremely portable. I was looking for something to bring along with my ultra book in a bag for train use, and this Lap-pad is extremely useful. For referecne, my ultrabook is 13.3 inches. I was also surprised that it managed to also fit my 16 inch bulky gaming laptops. [Mouse Pad] Perhaps the weakest link of this lap-pad was the mouse-pad. It slides out very easy, and its a great size, however its too smooth, so if your mouse doesn't have rubber feet, it ends up sliding everywhere when you go to type something on your laptop. I wish it was made out of a less smooth material. [Conclusion] Overall, this lap-pad is built great, has a great size that fits up to 16 inch laptops, and is very lightweight. However, the biggest thing holding it back is the material used for the mousepad, despite this downside I would definitely still buy again. Update: I've modified the mousepad and added thin grip tape. This simple modification still allows the mousepad to slide out, but also keeps my mouse steady. This brings the product up to 5 stars. However. Im keeping it at 4 since I believe this should have been considered.

Great quality and easy to use. I love the pull out mouse pad tray. I have a 15.6 inch laptop and the tray fits it perfectly. It is very comfortable as well. It has grips on the bottom so it wont slip. Worth the purchase.

I already have a couple of lap desks but they were either too bulky or didn't have enough surface area to use a mouse. I wanted something really lightweight so I could pop it in a backpack or tote bag, but still use my mouse because I hate track pads. I initially wondered whether anyone made a retractable mouse surface that you could stick to the underside of a laptop, and honestly this feels like a similar solution without having to actually stick anything to your laptop. It's so lightweight and easy to take anywhere. The footprint is only very slightly larger than my laptop, but the mouse tray (which slides out from either direction) provides that extra area needed to use a mouse. The surface itself is just right, so no mousepad needed. The surface of the desk part is just grippy enough that the laptop stays put even if I'm using it at a tilt. It slides very easily into a laptop bag, backpack, tote bag. It doesn't provide any extra height but when I want to elevate it a little, I just put a throw pillow in my lap under it. I also use it on top of a very small tray table at times when I want to use my laptop with mouse and the mouse wouldn't ordinarily fit. Honestly, one of my favorite purchases that gets so much use.

This laptop desk is EXACTLY what I was looking for to keep my 13 inch creator's laptop stable on my lap and to allow proper cooling. My laptop's processor generates considerable heat. Good, simple construction, with an effective no-skid pad for the laptop I liked especially the slide out out mouse tray which works witheither a left or right-handed mouse and is built with a slightly raised edge that keeps the mouse fr falling off. This edge could be just a bit higher, but it's very effective as is Nothing to plug in or set up. This laptop desk fits very easily into the laptop bag.

This is perfect if you're looking to create a flat surface for your laptop on a bed or sofa. I personally don't mind using my laptop directly on my lap, bed, or couch a lot of the time, but sometimes it really does come in handy to have an actual flat surface instead of a slightly movable one. This is especially true if doing extended work or something that can increase the heat of the laptop. Even though my current laptop doesn't get anywhere near as hot as my old ones have, it can still get uncomfortably warm where I'd rather have a barrier beneath it if I'm be doing something for several hours and not just a few minutes. Highly recommend, wish I had gotten it sooner. I like the design of this lapdesk a ton. Haven't made use of the pull out mousepad section, but it's nice and great that you can do either side for right and left handed. It's a clever design, sturdy yet lightweight. Fits my 14-inch laptop with ease, would fit a 15.6 no problem. Tested the fit of this in my bag as well, fantastic that the slim and lightweight design means it is easy to take when you travel, slides easily into padded slot with the laptop. And honestly, now that I have it, I think this is a very useful buy if you only ever use it when you travel. Truly wish I'd found this a while ago.

Exactly what I was looking for. I sit mainly on the couch when I use my laptop and this works great making sure it doesn't over heat and the mouse pad is an added bonus. Not flimsy and seems durable, lightweight

I've tried 2 other laptop trays, both with the cushions underneath - thick, bulky, cumbersome, and made me feel like not bothering getting my gaming laptop out and just playing games on my Steam Deck instead. However I thought I'd try this tray, and it's actually perfect. It's slim, light, very comfortable on your lap despite having no cushions, and even better it has a mouse tray that's wider than the other ones I've used - ideal for gaming! Extremely happy with my purchase!

Playing games on my laptop really got it hot. I needed a pad without fans to cool off my legs. This works great. It is very light and my 15.7 inch laptop fits well. I can play easily without feeling the heat now. The slide out mouse pad seems a little flexible but you can switch to left or right and it might come in handy.
