Google Chromecast (3rd Generation) Media Streamer (Charcoal) (Spanish Latam Version)

I just bought one of these last basic Generation 3 Chromecast Dongles sans redundant, cluttery remotes,. Which actually concentrates on what it does best; cast something (apps, photos, even video calls, etc.). from my smartphone, tablet or laptop to my basic cheapo HDMI TV without too much fanfair or clutter (like the "newer" multi-colored Gen 4 seemed to have). So far, so good. Even though the box and included paper instructions are in Chinese, when I actually plugged the dongle into an HDMI port, the Google Home app guided me step by step in the installation of this little inexpensive gem (at only 40 US dollars vs. well, so much more) with perfect English. I added the Google Home app along with my other favorite apps and I am perfectly fine with my "anciently prehistoric" set up. I am now doing just fine with this simple pre Google TV app based Gen 3 Chromecast dongle (although it does have Google TV app access pre installed on my own Smartphone by it's manufactorer). It is sleek, jet black with it's own built-in HDMI short length extension cable for prevention of overheating and fitting in odd shaped ports on my still very basic HDMI flat screen TV. This particular Generation 3 model has all the tech specs I need or even want packed into it's perfectly round black matte finish dongle. The next Generation afterwards goes too much the other way and seems to pack in too much more than I or most likely most people need or even care to have. The oblong dongle physical shape seems to suggest this in it's own way. And additionally might not be as reliable as the previous Gen. 3 even 2 ones. Generation 3 has the PROVEN combined best features of the Chromecast series without the glitches that future Chromecast models might fall into. A real balance of proven reliability with enough features for most people with basic audio/video set-ups. I don't need anymore Schizo-'Improvments" from a company that never seems to correct their glitches of previous "new & improved" products & apps always being churged out in rapid fire fast fashion before it would be prudent for release. I am perfectly happy just to cast via an Android Smartphone/laptop with Chrome OS- then that's it!

This is a great solution for any non-smart TV.. great for casting vids from cellular phone to the TV screen 😁

Easy to install with the help of some Youtube tutorials. Power cable could be longer.

I have an older version and love it. It is easy to install, easy to use and just works. It is great for streaming services that might not have an app on your smart TV or just because it is easier to set up and watch tem off your phone.

Doesn’t even pair with my Netflix account

Hay varios productos que se "parecen" al Chromecast pero que NADA que ver. Este es el producto original y el que funciona de la mejor manera. Lo compré para una TV viejita que que el Roku que tenía anteriormente lo regalé jeje. Ha funcionado bastante bien en mi TV Samsung del 2010 y es bastante fácil de utilizar. He aquí mi opinión del producto para todo aquel que esté pensando en comprarlo. ¿Cómo funciona? El Chromecast en sí no funciona como un Roku o Apple TV donde tu interactúas con los elementos en pantalla a través de un control remoto; en este caso el control remoto es tu celular o tablet ya que es desde ahí y por medio de las apps de tu cel o tablet donde le das la indicación al Chromecast lo que tiene que reproducir. Puedes visualizar videos dentro de Facebook, contenido de Amazon Prime, Netflix y Youtube entre otras apps compatibles con el Chromecast. No "manda" el contenido de tu cel al Chromecast, más bien el mismo Chromecast se encarga de obtener el contenido por si mismo sin necesidad de duplicar el contenido de tu pantalla. Configurarlo fue bastante fácil; el único requisito es obvio un celular o tablet, la aplicación Google Home y una conexión a internet. En mi caso yo conecté el Chromecast a un puerto USB que tiene mi TV así como a un puerto HDMI disponible. Al conectarlo por primera vez te indica paso por paso como configurarlo y enlazarlo a tu cuenta. Teniendo estos requisitos a la mano lo tendrás configurado en menos de 10 minutos y manejarlo será aún más fácil que con un control remoto tradicional. En mi TV arroja video en 1080p. Es todo un placer utilizar el dispositivo a través del cel ya que por el mismo cel puedes controlar el volumen y el contenido que quieras visualizar. No es necesario bajar apps dentro del Chromecast, solito te muestra el contenido. Suena algo complicado de utilizar pero una vez que lo uses verás lo fácil que es manejarlo. Lo recomiendo ampliamente para revivir TVs antiguas que no sean smart y también para esas TV smart que tengan un sistema operativo difícil de utilizar. Se prende y apaga solo al encender/apagar la TV. Es rápido y fácil de utilizar. Lo recomiendo al 100%

Amé muchísimo mi Chromecast 😍 y aunque me llevó 3 restablecimientos de fábrica para agarrarle la onda porque todo es desde el cel y no soy tan ducha con eso, realmente es sencillísimo de instalar y muy fácil de usar 👌 Un 5/5 !!! No lo dudes, mejor que cualquier competencia, a un súper precio y seguro tiene más funciones de las que le he hallado, pero amé el hecho de poder personalizar desde el nombre del dispositivo hasta las imágenes que van pasando mientras no reproduces contenido y que en cualquier tele con puerto HDMI puedo reproducir mis pelis, series y música favorita (cuente o no con dichas apps) como si no hubiera límites, básicamente este aparatito convierte tu tele en smart si no lo es y si sí, la complementa (sobretodo si no es del año jiji) 😃😃😃 realmente anhelo mis vacaciones para aprovecharlo al máximo porque se vuelve adicción! jajaja OJO: El aparato sólo transmite, no significa que sea all inclusive ni mucho menos, el costo de cada una de las membresias es a parte y depende de cómo las tengas contratadas, es decir, el convenio, con qué compañía, etc etc etc. Algunas de las apps de las que puedes transmitir a tu pantalla en México: Netflix, Claro video, Amazon Prime, HBO Max, Disney+, Star+, YouTube, Facebook, Spofity y también puedes hacer screen mirroring. ❤
