What was to be a female... * * * love, passion and self-respect * * *
This novel is brilliantly plotted as it combines female passion and self-restraint with social and personal relationships. The need for Jane to be respected socially not according to the classic prejudicial and material standards such as rank and blood but to those personal values which every person owns inside of their heart and mind. This 2009 edition is beautifully bound with blue-violet cloth. On the cover there are red leaf-shaped incisions which add to the book a magical touch of that "inner fire" which moves Jane's heart throughout the novel since she is just a child to her discovery of womanhood. This book is a re-issue edition of this paperback one Jane Eyre (Penguin Classics) . If you own the paperback edition and you really love Charlotte Bronte's fictional and non-fictional world you must add this edition to your library, a precious must-have for any collector.

Great buy
If you have read your copy to ragged shreds, this is a lovely hardcover replacement, with a binding design worthy of a great book. Decent paper, print of a reasonable size; bonus points for the ribbon bookmark. No scholarly apparatus, but let’s be honest, we’ll be reading it for fun & this edition should last the rest of your life. Well worth the price!
