Choose your attitude, Choose your life
This is an excellent, thought provoking and truly inspiring book!I was familiar with the concept of in/out of the box and liked the idea so was keen to read this book. My expectations were exceeded! It is written in the form of a "story" and uses scenarios from both in and out of work to help explain how our thoughts drive our feelings, which impact our behaviours and links into our self, and other, perception. This book explains how we create our view of other people and then look for justification of that view.It helps you recognise not only when you go into the box but also when other people are in their box (as one or two of these reviews show) and helps you find a more effective way of interacting with your world. This is so much more than a leadership book and is much more a "life enhancing" book and should be compulsory reading in schools.Read and enjoy

Cheesy but Good
I was recommended this book by a friend and it immediately appealed because it was small, easy to read, and in a narrative style. Many people prefer proven theories and referenced reseach papers - I live in the messy real world so a good pragmatic story is OK for me. I have to say the slightly happy-clappy cheesy-read style is a bit off putting but the message is worth the effort. And although it doesn't mention it the message is the same as in the Transactional Analysis model. The 'Box' sounds just like the 'Not OK' mode of thinking that is the engine of psychological Games (see Eric Berne). Looked through that lens this reads like a story of applied TA and for that reason alone I feel it is worth a read - if only as an introduction to TA. If you like this you'll also like 'Anatomy of Peace' by the same authors which had an even more powerful message - especially for parents.

Must buy - you'll be hooked for all 3 books. Looks simplistic due to the type face, don't be fooled!
Looks like it's going to be a kids book......the content is amazing, and the 2nd and third after it really resonate on some of the mistakes and some of the good parts of how I perceive management skills and leadership

Worth reading
Easy to read, lots of stuff you already know but a couple of nuggets I found very useful. Has changed my perspective on minor things which really irritated but no-longer do and has improved the quality of my life

One of the best and most challenging books on leadership I have ever ...
One of the best and most challenging books on leadership I have ever read. The author teaches us by enclosing each lesson in an ongoing story and I had the uncomfortable feeling that he had been spying on me! In my opinion, businesses need to read this book.

Required reading for prospective Ski Club of Great Britain Leaders
Was interested to see this book on my reading list for my Ski Club Leadership course. On reading it I totally understood as read thoughtfully it helped me see how my thoughts on others influenced how I treated them. I now have an extra copy in my business for my team to read. If digested sensibly is a great book to help with engendering harmony at work & at home.

Leadership and self deception- getting out of the box
Everyone should read this book. If a person has empathy then they will understand its message and it would help create a better society. It gives the reader a more thoughtful sesnsitivity of how ther actions and behaviours impact upon those we come into contact with. I absolutely love it.

Excellent book on leadership
This is an excellent book, with sometimes uncomfortable truth for those of us to look at who are in leadership positions.
