The Trouble With Women : Fleming, Jacky: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: Great as a gift - Great little book, very funny with a serious message. It was bought for me as an adult but every teenager I have bought it for has loved it. My husband and son both enjoyed it too x Review: it's just too funny. It's also pertinent - Hilarious, kept stopping to read it to my other half, but had trouble getting the words out: it's just too funny. It's also pertinent, true and serious about the invisibility of women in our history lessons, so read laugh and learn. The cartoons, as with all of Flemings work, are animated, sharp and precise. The text is pretty good to! I'd say this book is a triumph and a welcome return to publishing for one the UK's most intelligent and gifted women cartoonists.

Really clever AND funny book
This a very funny and very smart book. Really funny and witty drawings. Makes you laugh. But also make you reflect. The best way I think for my niece and nephew to understand how power works in this world and not feel threatened or criticised. Good buy when you think about it really given all the work that must go into these cartoons. And all the historical research. A 10 out of 10 from me. Will buy several friends one for their birthday or xmas and chanukah. A breath of fresh air. Yup.

Feminism at its funniest - brilliant satirical book
Hehehehe, oh my days. I loved The Trouble with Women by Jacky Fleming. It is a satirical look about the development of women in a man’s world. It is told through hilarious illustrative representations which had me howling out loud. It is sad that in these modern times that a book like this still seems so relevant but seeing as men still earn more than women in the workplace for doing the exact same job and seeing how girls playing certain sports is often viewed as a novelty I guess we can still see how imperative a book like this exists. The Trouble with Women is a brilliant book and a must read for any young woman who intends on kicking ass through any and all glass ceilings. The Trouble with Women by Jacky Fleming is available now. All Men Should Read This. It's a Real Gem.
Although I happen to be male I did actually spend the best part of my first nine months inside someone who happens to have been a woman. Ever since then I've had great respect for those who are willing to endure such a process in preference to laying eggs like birds and a few primitive mammals such as the duck billed platypus. When I asked my mother why most mammals didn't lay eggs, she said it was because eggs are easily crushed and might be mistaken for hen eggs, which means she might have eaten me for breakfast. Ever since then I've had great respect for women and the way their brains work. Fortunately, this is precisely what this carefully compiled work is all about. It shows the reader how men have evolved to prevent women from treating their offspring like hen eggs, after which it shows the reader how to manage women and not allow them to suppose their brains are in any way capable of matching up to the high standards set by superior male brains. It's hand written in simplistic style illustrating how women, such as the author, do not understand either printing or intuitive thinking. The truth is, I absolutely love reading this scintillating 'up yours' to all MCPS (male chauvinist pigs) and their dastardly mindsets. I know it doesn't take long to read and all that, but it's the kind of work that thinking folk will love to return to over and over again, especially after they've been experiencing an overdose of male-chauvinist-pigism and sensible males will love reading it just as much as their female counterparts, not least because it shows them how not to be chauvinist bores.

Cartoon Fun
It's a short Victorian (mainly) history of women in cartoons with short, pithy paragraphs. And they are very funny, witty and pretty accurate as a insight into the times. Darwin clearly has a lot to answer for. Don't buy on Kindle enjoy the subtle line drawings on the page. Like all good cartoonists you can re-read her multiple times and still laugh out loud.

Hilarious
This is a very funny book, and full of facts about women who *should* be famous. I wouldn't recommend the book to men as, despite what they've always been told, they really don't have the intellectual ability to comprehend the issues raised in it.

Hilarious drawings and a wonderful apposite book for the times
Love this book - have bought copies for all my female friends. We can all relate to it!

I LOVE the content a good cover to cover read and chuckle and eye roll book. However, the cover is a bit dinged and I probably paid way too much for my copy given that on the back it shows $12.99 USA and $15.50 Canadian. Grab it on special, you will probably be closer to the correct price that way.

If the entire destitute history of women and their achievements could summarily be presented, that too with humor, sharp edged sarcasm, and too much truth, then it should be this book!

I originally got this book for me as I was intrigued by the graphics and book review. I enjoyed the book soooo much, laughed out loud, and adored the graphics. Talk about a timely book in the ME TOO era (timing is everything). So I immediately bought 4 more as gifts. 2 have been received and the recipients have LOVED the book and will probably buy some for their friends (pay it forward). 2 will be Christmas gifts. Each of these people are very different, in fact they only have a single characteristic, being FEMALE !!!!!! Most of my friends don't exchange gifts much anymore, we rather spend quality time and go out to dinner or a movie as a treat. But this little book is affordable and adorable and I couldn't resist.
