Excelente producto

Well made. Good clear focus. Parfocal with a touch of the fine focus.
later I purchased the 20x replacing the useless 100x (oil) as well as a dark field dry 120 condenser. I hope to buy the 60x for an excellent darkfield/brightfield soil biology microscope. I might even pickup the 5x, its tempting. The value for the money to buy this equipment is excellent. The speed of shipping and support is excellent from both Amazon and Amscope. I could not be more pleased.

Highly Recommended!
I bought this for my daughter to encourage her love of science. As a quick background, I have an extensive background in optics including years of amateur astronomy and photography. As a result, I know good glass, and I detest cheap optics. To say that I am impressed with this microscope would do a disservice to the word, "impressed". It is very solid, the optics are clear and bright, and it worked 100% out of the box. It's better than the microscopes they have at the local high school, and most importantly, she loves using it so much that we've found her getting up early to use it before school, and this is a kid that doesn't get up early for ANYTHING! I will say that for our uses, the 100x objective was of little use (at least not for now), so I bought an additional 2x objective which lets her use the scope for looking at coins, bills, and other larger objects. You'll need an external light source for this, but that's easily obtained. We'll graduate to the 100x objective eventually, but for now, we're thrilled with the new setup, and you know what? The fact that we could swap objectives is a HUGE benefit that we wouldn't get with a cheaper microscope. If I have anything negative to say, it would be that the box contained no manual. Figuring I could just download it, I went to the website where it told me to find the Customer Information Sheet, which I did. It told me to enter the code, and if there wasn't a code, I probably bought it from Amazon (which I did), and that there would be a code on the box. I entered every damn code I could find and none of them worked. Finally, in a fit of frustration, I entered the model number, and the manual popped right up. Why I have to enter a code to get a manual is beyond me, but hopefully that will help someone else. Honestly, we didn't really need the manual, but it's always nice to have. The light is very bright and can be dimmed with the dial on the side. The controls are very precise and work great. I wish they were metal instead of plastic, but if plastic knobs gets me optics like this for the price I paid, well then plastic knobs it is! Yes, I could have bought this for less elsewhere, but I went through Amazon because if there was a problem, I knew that Amazon would have just swapped it or let me return it with ease. My daughter and I have spent hours together looking at everything we could think of through her microscope. She's excited about science, is thrilled to have a real instrument, and can't wait to use it every day. Who knows? Maybe this will help mold her into a world-renound microbiologist or forensic scientist. As far as I'm concerned, it was money well spent.

Quality microscope!
Bought for a grade 11 science student who loves it. Only wish is that there was a 60x zoom but happy with this purchase at this price point. happy it came well packaged and with a cover too.

Wonderful Inexpensive Microscope
I originally bought the microscope and 1.3 mp digital camera and was so disappointed with the camera that I returned it. However, I was impressed with the microscope itself so bought it on it's own. As a Molecular, Cell & Developmental Biology major I have spent many hours using a light microscope in the labs at school and wanted one that was comparable but without the price tag. This definitely met my expectations. The first microscope I purchased had obviously been bought and returned before. It did not impact performance, just something I noticed due to the way the second microscope I bought was packaged. I had to attach the lenses as they were not already attached, and had to clean some lubricant off some non-moving parts, but it was totally worth it. The optics work marvelously and all parts move smoothly. Though the pictures provide do not do the microscope justice, all images through the eyepiece are crisp and clear. I even added a tick leg using the 40x objective lens, though I would not advise using it like a stereo microscope, you CAN make out some detailed anatomy if using the camera and highest light setting. UPDATE 9/25/18 I recently had to order an objective lense (40x) and found that a replacement was only $20 from AmScope. While it's taking a while to get to me, I did get an email regarding the delay and was asked if I wanted to cancel my order or just wait for the part. I opted to wait and it should be arriving soon. I also prefer my microscope to the ones at school and use it for projects as it's not abused and I can clearly see my samples. I can definitely say that I will be buying AmScope products again.
