Needed this for an electronics project, and it is good quality and works perfectly. Basically it’s just a pass through… mount it in your project or the wall, etc… wherever you need it. Plug you HDMI into one side and connect the other HDMI cable to the back side passing it through whatever you’re working with, rather it be a wall, custom PC case, or transplanting a Kinhank X5 Pro into a custom modded original Xbox case 😃

I built a Blackmagic ATEM into a case with a monitor and two wireless video receivers, all powered by a V-mount battery. It makes multicam production convenient for a director who likes to move with the action. Occasionally, I have a third camera to monitor and I was just running an HDMI into the case but it would be fragile and take some time to make it work. These create a very convenient plug in the rear of the case so I can directly plug in up to two more wired connections without having to partially disassemble the case every time. Installation into a hard plastic Pelican like case was pretty simple. I didn't have the 7/8" hole saw that would have made things much easier, but I got the job done. The tiny screws included sunk right into the plastic and holds the connector in the case very strong. This is a great product for anyone creating custom video projects where access to an HDMI port is important and time matters.

We bought a 5-pack of these back in 2023. So far, we have had issues with TWO of them, with just a little bit of limited use in our professional live event video productions. These connectors will function and carry a proper connection for only so long, it seems, before they start exhibiting connection issues. Most recently, here in October 2025, I had an Apple Mac Mini M1 that was previously working fine, which is installed in a rack that has a patch panel with these PENGLIN HDMI 2.0 connectors in the back of said rack. I started noticing intermittent flickering and sometimes complete picture loss; however, the 21.5" 1080p ASUS monitor at the other end of the connection would still recognize a signal, but would not show a picture. When bypassing the PENGLIN 2.0 connector on the back of our production rack, the monitor immediately received a signal and a proper image on the display. As a result of our experience over the last 3 years with these connectors, I would NOT recommend these PENGLIN HDMI 2.0 connectors for professional video production use, as their functionality is, at best, very erratic and inconsistent.

Very nice. Comes with little screws and nuts to attach to mounting surface. I have mine on a 1U 19 rack plate. I had to use a mini screw driver set that has socket attachments to get the screws/nuts together. They are too small to do by hand.

Using this for a mobile DnD monitor. Haven’t put them in yet, but it’s exactly what I needed.
