Fits the valves perfectly and gives a nice cushion. The leather seems to be decent quality and not too expensive.

Excellent guard that has lasted a full school year with zero wear. My college age son plays his instrument daily for hours with outside gigs frequently in the sun. We are so grateful for the added support for his grip and support for his hand and arm. Awesome!

Just what was expected.

It’s great if you play for long periods and you get sweaty hands. It improves your grip and I think for the price it’s definitely one of the best investments I’ve ever made on the long run. It feels good, it looks good, and the price is great. Definitely worth buying.

I have used Protec cases for my trumpets and mouthpieces for years, but recently needed a new valve cover and bell protector, so I was pleasantly surprised to see Protec also offers these. The feel and fit are great, but most importantly, the interface with the horn is super soft and non abrasive. I know some artists prefer not to use valve covers, since they are concerned with the long term wear, but Protec really nailed this solution!

Good quality, looks nice on the instrument, and really helps protect the valves from the oil from your skin.

Bought this to replace a Denis Wick version which had started to disintegrate but only after many years of hard use in my sweaty paws. In fact, comparing the two, apartfrom the embossing in the leather they are identical. Exactly the same pattern - to the millimetre - and the velcro is in exactly the same place so methinks they're made in the same factory. That's by no means bad news as the last one lasted a long time. To the uninitiated, these things are a leather cover, fastened by velcro, that fit around the valves of your trumpet. They protect the silver place or lacquer from both friction and sweat, so you wear out the leather, not the silver plate on your horn. Simplicity itself to fit, they also feel comfortable to hold too, giving better grip.
