Very pleased
I initially bought an alternative from Amazon, but the seller didn't reply if I could remove the sealed three pin plug without voiding the warranty. Thankfully I was able to send it back for this reason. This is a much better solution (as you can see, there is no plug). Of course, I assume that you can cut the cable to size, as I only needed a few inches to join to the existing cable running from inside my house (light switch) to the outside.(Using a Chefic Waterproof Junction Box Outdoor Cable Connector)NB I don't really understand why any manufacturer would put a plug on an outside lamp.As for the performance, really pleased. I have replaced my old 120W security light. The old bulb was rated at 2400lm, but I would say this replacement gives more light (It appears the old bulb has blackened). Only time will tell if it is cost effective, ie that it lasts long enough to offset the purchase cost against the difference in power usage. One other thing to note is that this is only a 'twin and earth' device, so you have to have it switched on for the PIR to operate. For those that haven't looked into this, PIR lights 'generally' have three core (wires) + earth. The additional wire is permanent live, so you can choose to switch off the light, but the PIR will still work (and turn on the light).

Northern light
The media could not be loaded. The current lights on the front and back of our house are not great. They just don't spread enough light so I was looking for something better. I didn't want halogen as it is not very efficient, so LED was the answer. This light from LTE fits the bill. It feels very well made, being of an all metal, (aluminium by the look of it) construction. The black satin finish is very well done with no scrapes or scratches. The front and back of the unit contain silicon seals to help keep the weather out. The light can tilt up and down and the PIR left to right. If you wanted the light to point at a different angle then just screw the bracket to the wall at the suitable angle.Additional adjustable functions are a light sensor to set how dark it needs to be before the light will come on. There's another to adjust the sensitivity of the PIR, ie how close or far away you need to be to activate the light and finally an adjustment for how long you want the light to remain on once activated. It's worth noting that adjusting them is not an exact science so you'll need a bit of trial an error to set it just right. The waterproof rating is IP65 meaning it can be used outside and should cope with the weather, come rain or shine. Here in North Scotland it will be getting a good testing, mainly with rain! The silicon seals do look like they will keep the train out.The light output is very good. I've included a short video showing the difference between our old light and the new one. It's rough and ready as I was hand holding the new light from inside the doorway. Also my phone camera made the old light look a little bit darker and the new one a little bit brighter but not by much and it does give a good feel for how much better the new light is.So in summary, (who said at last?!) 😁 The LTE is a well made security light, with good light output and build quality. If this was helpful I'd appreciate it if you could click the Helpful button.

Very sturdy light which is a fraction of the price of high street DIY stores
I purchased this light to light up the driveway to provide automatic light when a) either pulling in when in the car or, b) trying to open the garage door and trying to locate the key hole etc. The light arrived well packaged up and on initial thoughts is a very well put together light and feels really sturdy. I've seen pretty much the same lights in high street DIY stores at nearly double the price which makes this a really good buy.I installed the light myself however if you are not well versed in electronics you may need to call in a qualified electrician. I didn’t want many cables visible so I drilled a hole into the garage and threaded the cable through into a junction box. This light comes with a longer than average cable which is great. My dad who helped me with the installation said his light only came with 30cm which in his words was useless. I was able to put the junction box on the other side of the wall near the hole which I drilled and had plenty of cable left.I’ve had to spend a few days ‘fine-tuning’ the sensitivity adjustments but this is expected. The first reason is so that people walking past on the footpath didn’t set off all of the time and the second reason is to make sure it stayed on for the right amount of time.20w was the right amount of power for me. I have a double length driveway and it’s lit the entire driveway with the angle slightly down.

and after the next step is like 30 sec
Working, and do the job, but I'm not impressed with the motion sensor and the settings. ex: Impossible to set it for 15 seconds. It goes of around 6-7sec, and after the next step is like 30 sec. Doesn't matter how gently I try to set the timer, I bought two, and both the same. So after 30 min of playing with them, I left it on 30sec. Also I ordered two, they came in the same box, but they a bit different. Need some time to set up how you want, after it will do the job. Hope they will last. I ordered this brand because it have higher rating than the MEIKEE 20W, but I already have one MEIKEE, and more happy with it. Better sensor, and better pot-meters for settings.

Worth testing before hard-wiring
Once installed, the light flashed on and off with a regular 'once a second' pulse rather than staying on for the required time, regardless of adjustments made, a problem reported by others on Amazon for this light. I returned to Amazon who replaced within a day or so. The replacement light seems to work fine, though I tested it first by putting on a 3 pin mains plug and setting to full sensitivity to make sure it didn't have the same 'flashing' problem as the first unit before I connected directly to the mains supply.
