Excellent hard drive
Works perfectly and is quiet. I use it in my raid storage and which has four 6tb each some the storage capacity is great. It just slots straight in to the raid so is easy to install. The price is great as they seem to last longer the other makes of hard drives

Great Value and Highly Recommended
I recently picked up this Hard drive to go into my Ugreen NAS, and it has been great. I bought it specifically to host my Plex media server and also to keep all my private files safely stored away. I'm really happy with this purchase as it's doing exactly what I needed and I feel it was good value for money. The first one I received was actually faulty and my NAS didn't recognise it at all, but the seller was brilliant and replaced it straight away without any fuss, which was a huge relief. When it comes to how the drive performs, it’s reliable and the speeds are decent for what I use it for—it handles streaming from the Plex server with no issues. Even though I had a slight snag with the first one being faulty, the quick replacement service means I still highly recommend this Hard drive to anyone looking for one.

Rock-Solid NAS Drive, Reliable, Quiet & Perfect for 24/7 Server Us
I’ve been using the WD Red Plus 8TB NAS Hard Drive in my home server/NAS setup, and it’s been absolutely faultless. It’s clearly built for continuous 24/7 use, stable performance, no random disconnects, and no weird behaviour under heavy load. The fact that this is CMR (not SMR) is a massive advantage. Rebuilds, RAID operations, backups, and sustained writes all perform exactly as they should, with consistent speeds and no performance drops. It’s a night-and-day difference compared to SMR drives for server use. Noise and vibration are impressively low for an 8TB mechanical drive. Even with multiple drives running together, it stays quiet and well-behaved,perfect for a home environment where the server is always on. The 256MB cache helps with burst performance, and the 5640 RPM class keeps power consumption and heat nicely under control. Temps have stayed very comfortable even in a tightly packed drive enclosure. If you’re building: • A NAS • A home server • A media server • A backup array • Or a RAID setup This drive is an absolute workhorse. Reliable, quiet, efficient, and purpose-built for the job. Highly recommended.

WD Red Plus 6TB NAS 3.5" Internal Hard Drive - Good Media Drive (So far)
WD Red Plus 6TB NAS 3.5" Internal Hard Drive review I bought these to replace Seagate drives that I've had nothing but trouble with the past few years, A. being ridiculously slow and B. lately just completely dying on me after just a few months use. So far the WD Drives have been good and the speed is reasonable for spinning rust HDD's, around 160mbps copying largish media files and they're very quiet in use, I use these for Plex and they are more than good enough for that, the test comes with time and seeing if they last better than the Seagates did. I will report back in a few months if I have any issues. From what I've read there's been quite a few instances of people buying drives listed "New" and the build date on the drives being somewhat older than when they bought it thereby lowering the warranty period, I'd suggest it's always best to go on the manufacturers website and check with the serial number which is easy to do, these had a build date just a few weeks before I bought them, so absolutely fine. Time will tell but so far I'm pleased with the WD Drives.

FAILED AFTER ONLY FOUR MONTHS.
Purchased two of these HDD to install into my new NAS. Set them up and added all of my data on Raid one. After about 6 weeks i started to hear a different noise coming from the NAS on rare occasions. A solid continuous noise that lasted for about 3 or 5 minutes. After just over four months my NAS warned me that my storage pool and volume was degraded. Telling me to replace a HDD and repair the data. In ten years with different manufactures I have never had a HDD fail. Did not expect it after just over four months. So i would recommend that you think hard before purchasing a WD RED PLUS and choose another manufacture like SEAGATE. I am hoping that i can get a refund for this faulty product.

Trustworthy Storage
I have been purchasing HDDs for many decades now and I am sticking to the Western Digital brand because I trust WD to reliably store my data (all personal, including many TB of family video). Some HDDs are on 24/7 with constant access and can get hot, especially when the ambient temperature is high during summer, and I choose WD Red for these more demanding uses. As a personal user, I carefully pick the size and style (e.g. Green Blue Black Red, Red Plus, Red Pro) to give the best price per TB and performance for intended usage. I am paranoid about preserving data and have a rigorous strategy of redundant usage and multiple backups which I have had to prove on occasions due to human error. I do not expect HDDs, from any brand, to last forever though some are still going strong after 20 years with no hint of degradation. In my experience, a few % of HDDs start to show signs of problems after 5 years, and I constantly monitor the raw read error count. These WD HDDs keep going reliably with 100% data integrity for years after the first signs of problems, allowing me time to choose how to retire/replace. I have never had a WD HDD fail catastrophically, it is always a graceful degradation, hence why I trust WD to look after my data.

Great Hdd
I'm using this WD Red Plus 6TB drive in my Ugreen DXP2800 NAS, and it's a fantastic match. Installation was a breeze and the NAS recognized it instantly. It's quiet, runs cool, and provides reliable performance for my home media server. Highly recommended for anyone with this NAS.

Great price. Had no problems installing the 4 disks in my NAS. One thing which I don’t understand though is that I ordered 4 disks but they were delivered in 3 separate deliveries and the last one took much longer than the rest. Also, two disks were packed in a box which gave better protection, but the other two individual disks were packed in just an external envelope. Thankfully, the internal box was not so crushed.
