American Standard Bidet Seat, White

I own a Bio Bidet BB200 for many years. My downstairs toilet does not have a near power outlet, so I have been postponing installing one there for a while. I decided to go with a "cheap" bidet and it was a great decision. Is ti as good as the BB2000? No. Mind that it is 10% of the BB2000 price. Is the BB2000 10x better than this one. No. I would say that this one is a better value for the money than the BB2000. Having said that, it is not perfect, but you can't expect that at this price point. Here are the good things about it. + Easy to install + Great price + Works as described and as expected + Fits ok (more on that later) + No need for power + Soft close lid (did not expect it at this price) + Seem durable - had it for 5 months now. What could be better? - My toilet is a Kohler and this seat fits, but just barely. That is, the seat is shorter than the toilet. It would be great if they would offer two different sizes or so. I realize it may create a nightmare as people would order the wrong one. Still, for my toilet, the seat could be about 1.5 inches longer, which would be great. - The nozzles slide in an out, but essentially they have two positions. Full retracted when not in use and fully extended when in use. Also, since there are two of them, each ends up shooting water at a slight angle, rather than straight. You end up getting more wet that you need to and also having to wiggle to make sure the water washes where needed. Of course, this varies with everyone's anatomy. One way to improve would be to have the nozzles replaceable. Then sell shorter or longer or tilted (to a side) nozzles and people would use the ones that fit them best. I think it would not be a major mechanical change. - The seat cover is slow closing (which is great), but the back of the seat gets so close to the tank that the seat cover barely stands straight. This could be unique to my toilet, although I mounted it as far as possible from the tank. Compared to the BB2000 + The lack of warm water or seat warmer is not an issue for us. Granted we live in TX now. It was a godsend in the winters when we lived up North. + Easier to reach an operate than the fancy remote control + Not missing the air dry feature of the BB2000, as I never really though that one work well anyway. + Better seat design than the BB2000. The BB2000 has a sizable gap between the seat and an rim of the toilet. For men, in some cases, it is not unlikely to inadvertently "aim" for that gap when seated, which results in unwanted splashing outside. The Aqua Wash has a larger lip inside that covers said gap. - Miss the adjustable length of the spray nozzle. - The seat is smaller than the BB2000, yet not by much. All in all - great product for the price. I would pay double if the few issues I mentioned would be addressed.

This is my second bidet toilet conversion and one that Im going to recommend to everyone getting started. Install takes about 15 minutes: remove your old seat and the fittings, shut off the inflow to the tank, flush to drain the tank, install the mounting bracket (its adjustable to make sure you line it up exactly where you want to) slide the seat onto the bracket, disconnect the tank, install a coupler and make sure all your connections are hand tight and dont leak. the seat has a lever on the right hand side with a very positive click when in the off position, one way for your front side (if so equipped) and the other for your backside. Turn it on, dial up the pressure until you are comfortable and you are left cleaner than toilet paper or wet wipes. Dry off with a square of TP. The nozzles are billed as self cleaning and you can see that before they get into posistion water actually flows over it just it case you managed at some point to nozzles, so its very clean. the instructions also suggest using an old soft bristle toothbrush to periodically scrub the heads in case you have hard water to prevent clogging. the seat itself is pretty great, it sits flush with the bowl and can be disconnected with a push of a button to clean the tim under it without having to disconnect the water. its also one of those "no slam" seats where it will softly fall down from the upright position. Honestly, this is probably the most economic bidet model I would suggest people bother with. American standard has been doing plumbing/toilets forever and this shows on this things engineering, and while this is their no frills model, I suspect it will last nearly as long as the toilet its hooked up to. If you want other features like a vibrating seat or heated water, you will need a more expensive model, but I think for most people this is the option to have.

Working great so far! Got this as an interim replacement as we wait for a Brondell Swash model to go on sale. Had picked up a round version from Genie Bidet a couple years ago and can compare the kits (though perhaps genie bidet has improved since then). Basically, this looks like all the other bidet seats of the same variety. Same lever, same markings, etc. The things that made This stand out from the Genie Bidet round model was the hardware. The mounting bracket, bolts, and adjustable spacers are basically identical. The inserts for the American Standard seat, however, or a higher-quality rubber, rather than the hard plastic ones provided with the genie bidet seat. The plastic inserts did not allow for a firm attachment and the seat would move if you were sitting on it and it shifted your weight. I ended up having to use the bolts and the plastic threaded nuts for the genie bidet version. The rubber inserts for the American Standard seat have brass threading and once you get the insert in (a bit of a challenge), they fasten up very snugly without the need for the threaded nuts. That said, if you do need the traditional bolt/nut setup, the nuts provided in this kit appear to be a higher quality plastic, also with the brass threading in the interior, less likely to strip the threads as might happen with the fully plastic ones that came with the genie bidet seat. Again, it’s possible that the hardware kits have been upgraded for the other brand since the time of purchase, so take this with a grain of salt. Be advised if you’re new to bidets, this is cold tap water! You will get accustomed to it but a cold booty spray could also be used to help wake you up in the morning! The seat was easy to install and there were no leaks on the first attempt, which is always great to see. Why 4 stars and not five? Having come from one of the fancy electric seats that finally gave up the ghost, the wider spacing on the wands is noticeable during use. For example, while using the rear wash, you effectively have to scoot a little bit over to make sure that the stream is hitting you where you need it to, to flush the seal, so to speak. This is where having a secure seat is key. If you are shifting around to try and get a good spray, you don’t want the seat to be sliding around on the bowl. Thankfully that’s not the case with this seat. That said, the wands on the electric bidet that we had were so closely spaced, that you didn’t have to move around to “center up“, so to speak, on the spray. Additionally, it’s possible that the wands on the electric version also have the nozzles rotated slightly in to avoid the need to shift around. While you can apparently pull off the heads of these nozzles to clean or replace them, it would be great if these wands could be slightly adjustable to angle them in to account for being a bit more widely spaced than other bidet seats. Also, and this appears to have been remedied with the seats by Alpha Bidet, but the front/back symbols and lever directions are a bit counterintuitive. e.g., turning the lever back should be for the rear spray while forward should be for the feminine spray. Not a dealbreaker, but you would think that would have been a natural design decision to make. Lastly, the mounting bracket and mechanism just barely worked to get a good fit on our American Standard Cadet 3 dual flush toilet using the rubber inserts to mount the seat. The seat almost mounted a bit too far back and that was with the mounting bracket installed as far forward as possible. The traditional nut/bolt mounting might have given it some extra play, but I was able to finally get the seat mounted without looking as though it was sitting further back on the bowl than a traditional seat would. Also, keep in mind that most seats like this, mechanical or electric, require room behind the mounting holes to be fully functional, like having the lid and seat stay up. I didn’t notice any specs for these mechanical seats, but I believe Brondell wants at least 1.5” to 2” of space between the mounting holes and the tank for their electric wand-based bidets. Keep that in mind for these seats as well. The seat feels a bit flat and level compared to the Brondell electric seat, which has more of a downward slope from the back to front of the seat. That slope, while taking some getting used to affords a lid that has a similar slope, which I believe gives it a bit more room for the lid and seat to go back. Both the lid and seat on the American Standard seat are more level, which is why the space between the mounting holes on the bowl and the tank will be important to attend to in getting this seat to work appropriately in terms of the lid and seat being put up and staying up. Hopefully that makes sense. Beyond that, I would recommend pulling the flow regulator. I found the pressure to be a bit low and the lever allows you to effectively determine how much pressure you get, so I don’t see the need to have the regulator installed. The extra pressure is also more effective in getting your seal fully flushed. Sorry to get graphic, butt if you have a softer BM, getting it fully flushed out will mean you won’t have any extra grit or sediment that can eek it’s way out after the fact and cause irritation back there. The extra water pressure can help with that. In sum, this appears to be a great replacement for a more expensive bidet that used a similar wand mechanism, although it required electricity to run. After we had purchased our expensive electric seat, I had wondered if anyone had come up with a similar idea that simply operated off of water pressure. Sure enough, someone had taken the idea and ran with it. If you can’t afford the more expensive electric seats, this is a great alternative that far surpasses the separate bidet attachments that dip down into the bowl and are fastened under your traditional seat (tried one of those too). Get one of these seats and you will wonder how and why you ever went without one before! You will get a much better cleaner bottom and you will use a lot less toilet paper as well.

The seat arrived a day early and was very easy to install. Everything fit perfectly and no leaks but make sure you tighten more than hand tighten on the bidet hose fittings covered by plastic. Where the bidet seat hose fits on the adapter I would push the plastic cover onto the adapter first then screw the metal fitting onto the adapter by hand and tighten with a wrench although not too tight - about 1/2 to 3/4 turn past hand tighten. You can slip the plastic cover partially back onto the metal fitting after tightening. I found it too easy to potentially cross-thread the fitting onto the plastic adapter if you tried doing it with the plastic cover covering the fitting. I have a Kohler toilet and the seat fits it perfectly. I didn't find the paper template particularly helpful. It was much easier to install the base plate snugly and adjust it accordingly by snapping the seat onto it in different positions until it fits where you want it then tighten it down. The seat easily snaps onto the base plate and comes off with a push of a button on the side. The connection hose is long enough that I was able to run it through the hole in the back of the toilet and back around to the adapter making it a much more elegant install rather than seeing the hose all twisted by the side of the toilet. The wands work perfectly and there's plenty of adjustable water pressure depending on how far you move the lever. I fully expect to be using a lot less paper and being much cleaner than with paper or wipes. BTW the cold water isn't such a big deal once you get used to it which won't take long.

This item is awesome...bear with me. This review will be worth the read. I stepped outside this a.m. to walk my daughter to the bus stop and noticed the bidet sitting on my front patio. "Oh, joy! My bidet has arrived!" I thought to myself. A terrible case of highly contagious rotavirus caught after the recent eclipse at friend's house inspired this purchase. It was such a horrible, explosive case of GI illness that it caused the ONLY instance of hemorrhoids I've ever had in my life. Not even natural childbirth had brought about hemorrhoids for me. Anywho...fast forward to after my daughter was safely on the bus. I briskly walked home, grabbed the bidet package, tore it apart in an excited frenzy, commenced to read the installation instructions and began to install this bad boy. Who am I kidding? Lol! I was too excited to read through the entire two pages of instructions, so I got to work right away...then I hit a snag. :( I had a non-flexible tube that fed into my toilet tank and could not continue with the installation. So, off to Lowe's I went!!! I got to my local Lowe's, found a helpful employee named Keith who works in the plumbing department, he hooked me up with what I needed right away, I paid the cashier (made sure to get my military service discount), sped off for home and immediately picked up where I left off. And I'll tell you, installation was a breeze. I adjusted the hoses and made sure there weren't any leaks then I got down to testing the bidet nozzles with the lid open...and was impressed! Water shot outside of my toilet bowl and completely across the bathroom where it splattered against my wall! Impressed and excited are the two adjectives to describe my feelings at the time. This bidet has cleaning power! It's a veritable jet stream of CLEAN! I ran water through the lines a couple more times to ensure clean, clear water was running through them then I took my proper place upon thy throne and tested it out....wow. Pleased doesn't even begin to describe how using the bidet felt. I feel taller, stronger, faster, amazing... I will tug on Superman's cape. I will spit into the wind. I will pull the mask off the old Lone Ranger AND I will mess around with Jim because this bidet is AMAZING.

The technology for these is not commonplace so if it not just right, it probably means you should hire new mechanical design engineers. I happen to have an American Standard brand toilet, so I figured this would be the best fit. The good: it works and the dual switch is east to locate and use. The bad: the fit and size are comical. The opening, literally the size of the opening in the seat is really small, like for a child's butt. What are they thinking? Second, the whole thing is an about two inches short. I have an oval toilet, and got the oval seal and it's the same brand; how could it not be a good fit? if you install the seat so the opening is aligned with the back of the toilet bowl, it does not sit well on the front. As I said, the opening is so confined you will be worried about getting the alignment just right. Lastly, they used the typical metal female threaded 3/8 water supply line (nut) but used soft white plastic for the male supply attachment (on the seat). If you don't get it lined up just right (and it's really tight in there because of poor design), the sharp metal nut threads will strip the plastic male side and you can throw the whole thing away. Bottom line: this must have been made specifically for unusually small economy toilets - if you have a larger nicer toilet, even American Standard brand (like I do) it too small. We also own the Kohler K-5724-0 (Puretide Elongated Manual Bidet Toilet Seat), also purchased on Amazon. It's a perfect fit and well put together. It's more expensive, about $100. We should have just got another of those.

Until the over shopping and hoarding of TP, I had never even thought about a purchase like this. Silly me!! After due research both on reviews here and on the web, I decided on the American Standard Aqua Wash. I lucked out, it was out of stock by the time I made up my mind, went with my second choice through another retailer, order ended up getting canceled, and I checked back here. Snapped it up as fast as my fingers could hit the purchase! This arrived yesterday, as promised. I have NEVER replaced anything on the toilet. Instructions were straightforward, pictures clear, everything easy to understand. I was highly impressed with the quality of the seat itself plus all of the hardware. Exactly what I would expect from American Standard. Tested it out, no leaks. Score one for the home team. The ambient water temperature did not bother me, of course I live in Central Florida and it's already hot. I did NOT take out the regulator before installation. I wanted to see which was the best way for me to go. I'm perfectly happy with the water pressure but good to know that I have options. Don't want to embarrass myself with TMI, but I really like the clean feeling. All that being said, it may quit working tomorrow in which case I will amend my review. As it is right now, I'll probably end up ordering another one for the guest BR.

For years, I've used a bidet that bolted underneath the existing toilet seat. It worked fine, but was not easy to clean. The integrated design of this product makes that a non-issue. It's a much cleaner look, and it fits my new Glacier Bay toilet perfectly. As others have pointed out, and the installation instructions describe, there's an in-line flow regulator pre-installed. It's located where you hook up the hose to the seat. I didn't even bother trying it with the flow regulator installed, I just followed the instructions and removed it. The pressure is perfect without that regulator. One added bonus that I wasn't aware of at the time, is the way this mounts to the toilet. Rather than bolting the whole unit on, you install a mounting plate that the seat then slides into and locks with. There's a release button so you can quickly and easily remove it for cleaning. The instructions associated with the template seem to be poorly translated to English, but it's pretty intuitive once you see the template. What it's really trying to do is show exactly where to align the mounting plate so that the seat is properly situated on the toilet. I nailed it on the first try. The only other part about the installation that took a little effort was installing the rubber inserts through the base of the toilet. These are optional per the instructions, but if you can use them it seems like it would make for a more snug installation. It took a little effort to get them through the holes, but they seated nicely once they were in. Tightening up the screws into the threaded part of the insert then causes the bottom of the insert to expand, providing a very solid anchor for the mounting plate. From there, it's a simple matter of installing the provided wing nuts and that part is done. Again, the directions were a bit ambiguous on this, but it isn't hard to figure out once you see the parts and compare to the drawing. This product is really well designed and seems well made. It was a good purchase, in my opinion.

The advertised measurements clearly show it should fit up to 8 1/2" from center to center of the posterior holes in the toilet; however, the baseplate is only 8" wide - it's impossible to fit 8 1/2" wide holes! My toilet is 8 1/2". DOES NOT FIT SIZE ADVERTISED. I don't even get a refund because I trusted the advertised instructions and waiting to install because I was on vacation. Really messed up.

I love it. I would never go back to the hand shataff. The hardware is included and it's really high quality. Includes the hose and all the adapters for the toilet.

La higiene, limpieza y el ahorro del papel higiénico es considerablemente buena, lo recomiendo ampliamente.

Works perfectly

This is an excellent product and easy to install. It has two (cold-water) sprayer options: one is more unidirectional; one has a gentler wider spray. The cold water is not uncomfortable. The seat requires no electrical connection. The water feeder pipe connects to same valve that fills your regular toilet. I opted to purchase an extra chrome T adapter to help regulate the water pressure going into the water feeder line. I separately ordered the “Metal Bidet T Adapter, 3-Way,” which I used to replace the cheap plastic T-adapter that comes with the toilet and does not regulate water pressure. It is useful, especially if your house has strong water pressure. Installation was easy on our American Standard elongated “Cadet” model toilet, however, I dislike the short plastic water connector on the left side of seat, where the water line connects. The plastic connector is too short and the threads could easily shred if it is cross-threaded. The connection needs to be perfectly aligned. I had a leak the first time, then disassembled and realigned the two pieces perfectly. A small piece of Teflon plumber’s tape could be added if the connection drips a bit or got cross-threaded. My connection is perfect now. It is best to hand-tighten all connections, without any tools. The sprayer lever on the seat is durable plastic (but I would have preferred metal). I highly recommended this product!
